Re: The Making of a Legend. The Career of Coach Scott CF25

For BSU coming off the 2nd loss of the season it was do or die time. The loss to the Huskies dropped the Broncos from #1 in the CTP Rankings to #3, but a 3rd loss especially to the unranked Cougars would be devastating in the Broncos quest for a repeat run at the playoffs and a shot at the National Title. Today would also be the Broncos last home game of the season and last chance for Coach D and Coach Scott to have this year's incoming class of recruits in for a visit.

WSU came into the game losers of their last 4 including a (34-10) loss to Oregon last week in Eugene. With a (4-5) record the Cougars hopes of a Bowl game will relying on them winning 2 of their last 3 games (they play Utah at home in Week 13 and Oregon State in Week 14).

The Broncos would take a early (14-0) lead on a pair of rushing TD's by Aston Jeanty but the Cougars answer back scoring 10 unanswered to make it (14-10) with less then 3 minutes to play in the half.

Madsen Maddux coming off his 3 INT performance in the 4th Quarter against the Huskies however would show he still has some moxie and would connect on a 61 yd bomb to Chase Penry to make it (21-10) at the half.

WSU opened the 2nd half with the ball and after a 12 play drive the Cougars were in the endzone and with a 2pt conversion made it a (21-18) ball game. BSU though answers back as Madsen hits TE Matt Lauter on a 26 yd catch and run to make it (28-18). WSU's RS JR Joh Mateer was a gunslinger though and wasn't going away without a fight as connects on his own bomb going 72 yds to WR C. Hernandez as the Cougars make it (28-25) as we head to the 4th.

Looking to shake off his 4th Quarter performance against the Huskies, Madsen goes to the air showing his confidence as he connects with Prince Strachan on a 29 yd strike. The BSU XP however was wide right as Ferguson-Reynolds miss's for just the 2nd time this season leaving it (34-25).

Again Mateer comes out slinging pass's as WSU looks to mount a comeback just like their instate rivals did just a week ago, but this time the Bronco D was ready as they pick off Mateer setting up Ferguson-Reynolds for some redemption as the Senior kicks a 44 yd FG to make it (37-25) with less then 3 minutes to play.

After the kickoff, the BSU "D" came up with 2 sacks setting up a 3rd and 21 for Mateer and the Cougars. Looking to make it 3 in a row the Broncos brought a all at rush at Mateer but unfazed Mateer takes the hit as he delivers a strike to JR WR Tony Freeman who takes it 89 yds to the house (biggest play given up in the dyansty so far) as WSU makes it (37-32) with 2:32 to play in the game.

BSU not taking any chances would go into preserve mode picking up a pair of 1st downs forcing the Cougars to burn their 3 timeouts as they hold onto win the game.

      TEAM UPDATE

      RECRUITING
For Coach Spencer Danielson and Coach Scott the Broncos on the field success has not let to alot of off the field success in the in-season recruiting period.. Last season BSU signed just 5-3* Recruits early and was not even in the Top-100 before landing 6 talented 4* Recruits in the final weeks propelling them to #24 in the nation.

After landing just 1 recruit (4* WR Alex Harris #469 Overall,#71 WR) in the first 11 weeks, BSU fans finally got the good news they have been waiting for.

A Week 12 visit by 6 players on the sidelines for the WSU win, has secured 5 more commitments including the Broncos first 5* recruit since the transfer of Malachi Nelson.

5* MLB Zach Eddy from Newhall CA listed at 6'1 220lbs was the #11 Overall recruit in this years class and the #1 player in the state of CA and the #1 MLB in this year's class, with scholarships from basically every Pac-12 team as well as Big Ten and SEC schools in the nation. After a long process, Eddy had narrowed his decision between BSU, Oregon and USC.

With current starting MLB Marco Notarainni finishing up his final season with the Broncos it appears that Eddy will have a pretty solid shot at being a Day 1 starter and potential Bronco Team Captain for the next 4 seasons.

Eddy will be joined by a pair of 4* recruits on the Defensive side of the ball and 2 more future Day 1 starters, also both coming from the Golden State.

4* OLB Kona Tinoisamoa from Murrieta CA is listed at 6'3 224 lbs and was Ranked #356 Overall and the #19 OLB in this year class.

4* CB Britton Mayden from Harbor City CA is listed at 6'1 186lbs and was Ranked #222 Overall and the #22 CB in this year's class.

Well the last 2 signings are not as sexy or high profile both players could see roles with the Broncos early in their time in Boise.

3* Punter Evan Donahue from Norco CA was ranked #515 Overall and the #1 Punter in this year's class. He obviously has the inside track at taking over for Ferguson-Reynolds at the end of the season, as BSU doesn't currently plan on recruiting another punter.

3* Athlete Eric Villa from Coeur D' Alene ID listed at 6'1 304lbs is a capable of playing on either side of the ball on the line and will look to see where he best fits with the team this spring.

      Coach Scott
"Well the class is no where near the strength of Oregon (#1 in the country 3-5*, 20-4*, 3-3*), it is currently ranked #93 in the nation and with just 12 Seniors set to graduate and 35 Freshman out of our 85 man roster, we feel like we are already building a solid foundation to be very good for the next 3-4 years."

JEANTY EYES POST SEASON AWARDS AS HE NEARS 1000 YDS

Ashton Jeanty's Heisman talk has cooled since the start of the season, but the Senior RB is still among the nations best RB's in the nation (#2 behind Michigan Darius Taylor) and with 835 yds and 10 TD's on the season, Jeanty is already being talked about as a future 1st Round pick.

      Coach Scott
"Jeanty could've gone pro last year as he was expected to be a 2nd round pick, but he made the decision to stay and help us fight for another playoff bid and a chance at the National Title. He is the heart and soul of this team. I am excited to see him finish strong and show the nation just how good he is"
SCOTT'S BEING COURTED BY PENN STATE

Rumors of Coach Scott being offered HC positions by Eastern Michigan, San Jose State and Western Kentucky have been heating up the past couple of weeks, but a new rumor is starting to take a foot hold and many people in Boise are worried that Scott could have interest in taking.

The Penn State Nittany Lions are currently 7-3 Overall and (5-1) in Big Ten play with a Offense ranked in the Top-10 in the country and reports are PSU's current OC is being recruited by several NFL teams.

With the looming graduation of current starting QB Drew Alllar (3360 yds 33 TD 3 INT, 516 yds rushing 8 TD's) as well as starting RB N. Singleton (694 yds 4 TD) as well leading WR's L. Clifford 62 rec 950 yds 8 TD and H. Wallace III 58 rec 770 yds 9 TD, the Nittany Lions offense would be a complete rebuild for the young offensive mind from Boise who once again has BSU among the nation's best.

      Coach Scott
"To be completely honest it's a humbling experience to be wanted by so many schools and each one offers a different opportunity for me to continue my career and give me more opportunities, but my mind, heart and soul is here in Boise for the next 2 weeks and whatever lies beyond still in this season.. I will worry and start thinking about future jobs when our season is over"

BRONCOS PICK UP 9TH WIN OF THE SEASON BUT LOSE THEIR HEART AND SOUL!!!

In another must win game to keep their Pac 12/14 title hopes alive and secure a higher seed in the CTP Playoffs, Boise State beat the Oregon State Beavers in Week 13 but lost their heart and soul in the process.

Down (7-0) in the 1st Quarter BSU would turn to the ground game as RB Ashton Jeanty would rack up 98 yds in the 1st well Maddux Madsen would connect on a pair of touchdowns to SR WR C. Penry to tie up the game (14-14) at the half.

BSU continued to pound the ball via the ground game as Jeanty adds another 40 yds in the 3rd Quarter well Jambres Dubar adds a 4 yd TD run to give BSU the lead (21-14) into the 4th.

6 minutes into the 4th Quarter Bronco fan's worst nightmare would come true. The outcome will be something Bronco fans will remember and talk about for the next 20 years. Senior RB Ashton Jeanty would take the handoff and bouncing off the first tackle and attempt to hurdle a 2nd, well getting hit by a 3rd. Jeanty was down and hurt, as the trainers come out on the field to assist. Fan's could see Jeanty holding his leg well in extreme pain, as the medical staff brings out the cart.

First Malachi Nelson and now Jeanty.. Could the Broncos playoff dreams be over. How bad is Jeanty hurt. How will it affect his future in the NFL. Those were just some of the questions going through people's mind.

But those questions would have to wait there was still 6 minutes to play in the game and this one was far from over.

Over the next 6 minutes it was like a boxing match as both teams took their turns punching. OSU would tie the game first As SR QB Gevani McCoy fires a TD pass to Jeremiah Noga. Then it was BSU answering back as Maddux Madsen hits TE Matt Lauter on a 28 yd strike to make it (28-21) with 4 minutes to play. The Beavers and McCoy though were not down as they tie the game up yet again as SO WR Zach Card takes it in from 27 yds out to tie the game (28-28) with 2:32 to play.

BSU knew they wanted to take time off the clock but also knew they needed to win this game in regulation. With Jeanty still on the sideline, Dubar would pick up a huge 1st down and then another after a nice 8 yd pass from Madsen. The Broncos were driving and despite the fact Senior PK James Ferguson-Reynolds was 14/15 on FG kicks on the season, Coach Scott knew he rather his team not leave it up to chance and Maddux Madsen answered the call as he finds Prince Strachan on a 26 yd strike to give BSU the lead with just 42 seconds to play.

Still armed with 3 timeouts, OSU still had a chance to try and tie the game back up, but the Bronco "D" made sure it didn't happen as RS SO Frankyln Johnson Jr picks up McCoy to seal the victory..

        FINAL SCORE BSU-35 OSU-28

        KEY PLAYERS

        QB M. Madsen-20/26 (76%) 272 yds 4 TD 1 INT, carries 10 yds
        RB A. Jeanty-11 carries 141 yds 1 rec 10 yds
        RB J. Dubar-4 carries 16 yds
        WR P. Strachan-7 rec 92 yds 1 TD
        WR C. Penry-3 rec 67 yds 2 TD
        TE M. Lauter-5 rec 76 yds 1 TD

WITH THE WIN BSU MOVES TO 9-2 ON THE SEASON AND RETAINS THEIR #3 RANKING IN THE CTP. WITH THE LOSS OSU FALLS TO 5-6 ON THE YEAR AND IS STILL 1 WIN AWAY FROM BEING BOWL ELIGIBLE.

JEANTY'S SEASON IS MOST LIKELY OVER!!

The Medical report is in. Ashton Jeanty has a Torn Hamstring. The tear is so severe, doctors are saying he will miss the next 7-8 weeks. With Utah in Week 14 followed by a Bye Week, followed by the Pac 12 title game , followed by another Bye Week, there is a small chance Jeanty could return to action if the Broncos some how manage to make the National Championship and even a small chance he could play in the Semi Final Round.

If he doesn't Jeanty's season ends with a stat line 166 carries for 976 yds (just 24 shy of 1000 yd season) with 10 TD's on the ground and another 204 yds and 1 TD through the air on 24 catches.

With Jeanty out of action, JR Jambres Dubar takes over as the #1 RB well RS FR Sire Gaines moves up to the #2 role. Gaines has just 2 carries for 15 yds..

Not going to lie, I almost shut off my game and rebooted the save before the game when Nelson went down, but after I was able to play with Madsen and do well I figure why not finish it out and see what happens. I felt bad for Madsen because in real life injuries are what has kept him from being QB1 and injuries were a huge reason why Nelson felt he could come to Boise and win the starting job.

When Jeanty went down the feeling was stronger.. It's not how I wanted his career to end. Despite the injury I know he will still become a 1st Round pick but I really wanted to see him get the 1000 yds and really wanted him to potentially help BSU to it's first ever National Title. Those hopes are over most likely. Dubar is good and Gaines actually has really good ratings and I am excitied to get him in, but still it won't be the same.

            A RIVALRY IS BORN!!

            GAME PREVIEW
Boise State and Utah have never been considered rivals, with both schools having played each other just 7 times before today's matchup. BSU had won the last 4 meetings including the 2010 Las Vegas Bowl (led by Kellen Moore and Doug Martin) where BSU won (26-3) and a 2006 matchup in Salt Lake in which BSU won (36-3) but offered some bad blood went Utah's Eric Weddle had a late hit on BSU QB Jared Zabransky best known for being the cover athlete of NCAA Football 2008.

Today's matchup however was one that will be talked about for potential decades as Ute and Bronco fan's establish what should be a heated hatred for each other.

#3 (9-2) Boise State playing without star QB Malachi Nelson or RB Ashton Jeanty vs #6 (10-1) Utah, winners of their last 7 games with the Pac 12 North Division Title on the line and probably a spot in the 12 team College Football Playoffs for the Utes and potential 1st Round Bye for the Broncos.

            GAME RECAP

Utah led by RS FR Isacc Wilson (81 Ovr) the former 4* recruit and brother of former BYU and #2 Overall Pick of the 2021 draft by the New York Jets Zach Wilson has had a solid season passing for over 3000 yds with 20 TD's and just 5 INT.

He would add to those totals on the opening drive finding TE Landen King for a 29 yd score to make it (7-0). Dropped pass's would plague the Bronco's receiving core as they end 3 different series with drops on 3rd downs as the Broncos manage just 3 points on a FG by Ferguson-Reynolds to make it (7-3) as we move to the 2nd Quarter.

Utah would add to their lead with SR RB Jaylon Glover (88 Ovr) breaking a 33 yd run to make it (14-3) midway through the 2nd Quarter, but BSU would answer back with a pair of scores as Maddux Madsen finds WR T. Liggins (27 yd) and TE Matt Lauter (29 yds) to make it (17-14) at the half.

BSU would open the 2nd half with the ball but a quick 3 and out due to yet another drop pass would lead to a FG by the Utes as they tie the game (17-17). Boise State would turn to the ground game as fans get their first look at Jambres Dubar as the Broncos feature #1 RB. Dubar would carry the ball 6 times on the drive including a 5 yd TD run as BSU retakes the lead (24-17) as we head to the 4th Quarter.

Utah again answers back early in the 4th as Wilson needs just 1 play to tie the game (24-24) as he hits SR WR Darrius Clemons with a 75 yd bomb. BSU though sticking with the ground game uses a combo of 11 carries by Dubar/Gaines and Madsen to chew up some clock before Dubar breaks his longest run of the day taking it in from 15 yds out to make it (31-24)

Then after a huge defensive stop, BSU would tack on 3 more points to make it a 2 score game as Ferguson-Reynolds connects from 30 yds out making it (34-24) with less then 3 minutes to play.

Wilson already with 345 yds through the air and 2 TD's looked to lead his team in a comeback. 3 straight pass's and 40 yds but the Utes in FG position but Wilson's 4th pass is picked off by SR SS Zach Washington and returned 27 yds before being taken down... But the damage was done.. Ball game over..

            FINAL SCORE BOISE STATE-34 UTAH-24

            QB M. Madsen 18/36 (50%, 8 were dropped pass's though) 350 yds 2 TD 1 INT, 10 carries 34 yds
            RB J. Dubar-16 carries 44 yds 2 TD
            RB S. Gaines-4 carries 9 yds
            WR T. Liggins-7 rec 126 yds 1 TD
            WR P. Strachan-6 rec 74 yds
            WR C Penry-4 rec 52 yds
            TE M. Lauter-4 rec 67 yds 1 TD

            QB I. Wilson-21/29 (72%) 385 yds 2 TD 1 INT,
            RB J. Glover-10 carries 69 yds 1 TD
            WR D. Clemsons-4 rec 133 yds 1 TD
            TE L King 8 rec 131 yds 1 TD
            WR N. Wynn-5 rec 77 yds

WITH THE WIN BSU SOMEHOW JUMPS TO #1 IN THE CFP RANKINGS AT (10-2) WELL UTAH WITH THE SAME RECORD DROPS FROM #6 TO #15. (SORRY UTE FANS)

CARDINALS VS BRONCOS FOR PAC-12 TITLE

Before the season started Vegas sports betting predicted a Oregon/USC showdown. With most assuming that both Stanford and BSU would struggle just to win 6 games and become bowl eligible.

Instead it was USC who had to win their final game to get to 6-6 finishing just 4-4 in Pac-12/14 play well Oregon still managed to finish 9-3 Overall and 6-2 in Pac-12/14 with the #9 Ranking in the CFP Rankings as they secure a Playoff seed.

For BSU and Stanford the results of todays game matters.. For BSU a win would most likely secure them the #1 seed in the Playoffs despite 2 loss's (Top-25 ranked Notre Dame and Washington) well Stanford's playoff hopes are all but dead entering the game unranked.

A loss by BSU projects the Broncos to still make the playoffs but a loss by Stanford leaves them most likely playing in the Myrtle Beach or Sun Bowl.

Stanford is coming in having won 7 of their last 9 games with wins over USC, UCLA, Fresno State, Cal and San Jose State securing them the South Division, well losing to San Diego State and rival Notre Dame in Week 14 but trust me they are thinking of their last 9, they minds are 100% on getting revenge for the Week 2 loss to the Broncos in Boise, a team that looked very different then with Malachi Nelson behind center and Ashton Jeanty in the backfield.

              GAME RECAP

BSU won the toss and elected to kick and Stanford went right to work putting points on the scoreboard a JR QB Myles Jackson (81 Ovr) throws the first of 4 TD's on the day to give the Cardinals the (7-0) lead. A quick 3 and out would bring Jackson back on the field and he wasted little time as he throws TD #2 to make it (14-0).

BSU would manage to put together a decent drive but a failed FG attempt by James Ferguson-Reynolds left a (0) on the scoreboard for the Broncos.

Again Jackson and the Cardinals would waste little time using just 5 plays to find the endzone for a 3rd time all still in the 1st Quarter making it (21-0).

Finally in the opening minutes of the 2nd Quarter BSU would put points on the board as Jambres Dubar runs it in from 3 yds out making it (21-7) but the Cardinals answer back with Jackson's 4th TD of the day making it (28-7) with under 3 minutes to play in the half.

BSU not wanting to settle going into the half with a 3 score deficit would go to the air as Maddux completes 5/5 pass's to put the Broncos in FG position but would follow it with 3 incompletes as BSU settles for a Ferguson-Reynolds FG to make it (28-10) as we head to half time.

BSU would open up the 2nd half scoring on the opening drive as Jambres Dubar beaks another 20+ yd run for the score making it (28-17). Then after forcing a 3 and out BSU closes the gap to a score as Ferguson Daniels connects on a 50 yd kick to make it (28-20).. Neither team would score the rest of the 3rd Quarter..

The BSU Medical staff has been busy this season and it got even busier today as BSU loses both TE Matt Lauter and QB Maddux Madsen early in the 4th, leaving the Broncos and Coach Scott to insert 3rd string QB Kaleb Annett (70 Ovr) the 6'3 RS FR from Newport Beach CA.

A former 3* and the #99th ranked QB in the 2024 class, Annett is better known for his scrambling abilities but tonight he showed the nation he can throw the ball too as he comes in firing completing his first 6 pass's including a 19 yd strike to Prince Strachan to make it (28-26). Down by 2 points BSU had no reason to kick the PAT and instead left Annett and the offense on the field and that's when Annett reminded people he liked to run as he keeps the read option diving in to tie the game (28-28).

Myles Jackson who was unstoppable in the 1st half with 4 TD's couldn't find a open receiver in the 2nd as he fails to convert the 1st down as Stanford punts for their 4th time in the half..

With Maddux still on the sideline Annett comes out to lead another drive and the Freshman delivers yet again as he completes another perfect 5/5 pass's to put BSU in FG range. After as short stop on 1st down on a 2 yd run by Dubar, Annett's next 2 pass's resulted in drops by the Bronco receiving core leaving Senior James Ferguson-Reynolds to come on for this 4th FG attempt on the day, and F.R. delivers making another big kick to give BSU the (31-28).

The Cardinals had a chance to tie the game and force a potential Overtime, but FR PK Jabari Garrett's 49 yd attempt goes wide right as BSU takes over.

BSU not risking a pass, would turn to the ground game and BSU would find help from another Freshman stepping up big, as Sire Gaines (promoted to #2 RB) takes 5 carries on the drive 42 yds before Annett kneels out the remaining 32 seconds on the clock.

              FINAL SCORE BSU-31 STANFORD-28

FINAL RANKINGS ARE IN. PLAYOFFS ARE SET

With the conclusion of the Conference Championships, the Final CFP Rankings are in.

Pac-12 winner Boise State finishing the year with a 11-2 record secures the #1 seed and will await the winner of the #8/#9 matchup in the Rose Bowl as the Bronco Medical staff gets a much need Bye week to get their players healthy.

Just 1 year after playing for a ACC title in their lone season in the conference, SMU moved to the American joining 11 other Texas schools and the Mustangs ran through every opponent they had including a (33-21) win over #13 Texas A&M in the championship to finish with a perfect (13-0) record.

Despite perfection, the rankings actually dropped SMU from #6 to #7 as they will play (9-3) Oregon who secures the #10 ranking and #10 seed.

For Texas A&M their playoff dreams are over as they fall from #13 to #17.

What a crazy year for the ACC, with 20 teams in the conference, ACC teams play 9 games in conference and 3 out. Boston College rolled through opponents on their way to a perfect 13-0 season that includes a ACC title as they beat (9-3) Charlotte (28-9) as they secure the #2 seed and will await the winner of the SMU/Oregon game.

How was Charlotte in the ACC title game? Well its because they went 8-1 in ACC play including handing Clemson their only loss of the season, thus winning the division tie breaker with the head to head win.

It's okay though as (11-1) Clemson finishes the year #4 in the rankings despite not playing in the title game and will be the #5 seed.

But the ACC is not done because Virginia Tech also makes the final #12 as they finished (10-2) with loss's to BC and Liberty securing a 1st round matchup with the Tigers.

Waiting for the winners of the Hokie/Tiger matchup will be #6 Michigan who defeated Ohio State (20-19) to finish the year (12-1) with a Big Ten title.

If you thought the ACC was crazy well SEC say's hold my beer.

Defending National Champions Miami fails to make the SEC Championship finishing the year (11-1) with their lone loss to Florida in Week 3, but the Hurricanes will have a chance to repeating as they secure the #5 ranking and the #6 seed.

Florida also finished the regular season (11-1 but was perfect in SEC play going 8-0, with their lone loss on the year coming in Week 1 to North Texas (24-21). Waiting for the Gators in the SEC Championship was not LSU (they finished 2-10), note Missouri (they finished 6-6) not Georgia (they finished (7-5) not Alabama (they were 8-4) not even Auburn who finished 10-2 on the year but it was the Arkansas Razorbacks who also finished (10-2) including a (56-44) loss to the Gators in Week 7.

Florida would make it 2-0 as the Hogs fall (31-28) as the Gators take the SEC title for the 9th time in school history but just the 1st time since 2008.

With the win Florida gets the #3 seed and will play the winner of the Miami and Arkansas who secures the #11 despite the loss and now (10-3) record.

When Louisville left the ACC and rejoined CUSA many wondered what their chances would be to make the playoffs. Well they answered it with a CUSA title defeating Mississippi State (17-7) to finish the year (10-2), ranked #9 and securing the #9 seed.

K-State won the Big 12 title last year after Texas and Oklahoma left for the SEC and in doing so put themselves in a position to make a run at a National Championship falling short of their goal as they lost to Miami.

Well the Wildcats are back after a (35-28) win over Illinois in the new Big 12 finishing the year (11-2) and securing the #8 seed and a matchup with Louisville.

The winner will face BSU in Round 2.

Man, losing both Nelson and Jeanty this season had to be the biggest punch in the gut, particularly with how successful you've been thus far. This season really has been a wild one for the rankings, especially with your Broncos sitting at #1 with two losses! Looking forward to seeing how the CFP shakes out and what Coach Scott's next move is after the season!

Injuries suck, but at the same time they are part of the game and do make for some interesting stories.

There is so much to love about this game, but the rankings and seedings in the playoffs don't really make any sense to me. Yeah both BSU"s loss's were to Top-25 ranked teams, but still a 2 loss team should not be the #1 seed. And Utah got absolutely robbed as the #6 rank team that loses to the #3 ranked team and yet they drop to #17 and their playoff hopes are gone. It's not right, especially with the fact they beat Oregon who is in with 3 loss's.

Another thing I am not a big fan of use how the Coaching offers are done. You get offers before the season ends and if you don't take it the week they offer then they disappear and the schools hire someone else. New offers come in but again if you don't take them they disappear. So if Coach Scott wants to take a new job, I have to do it before the the playoffs even start and you don't have the option of taking over a smaller school because it's considered a downgrade...

Right now my only options are Stanford HC, Washington State HC and Arizona HC before I play Kansas State.

                      CLEMSON'S KLUBNIK WINS HEISMAN

SR QB Cade Klubnik (92 Ovr) is your 2026 Heisman winner after a insane season that saw him pass for over 4000 yds in back to back years.

Klubnik a 2025 Finalist after throwing for 4166 yds with 40 TD's and 17 INT as a Junior blows those # out of the water this season with 4463 yds with 57 TD's (a new school record) and just 6 INT.

Klubnik orginally from Austin Texas, did it with some help this season as SR WR Isiah Bond (88 Ovr) transfers in from Texas for his senior season as he looks to play closer to his Georgia hometown.

Bond would finish #2 in the Heisman voting as he finishes the year with a team high 89 receptions for 1050 yds and a new school record 23 TD's.

Kansas State QB Avery Johnson (92 Ovr) would finish #3 as he throws for 3805 yds with 42 TD and 4 INT, well adding another 500 yds and 5 TD's on the ground.. The Junior is considered the front runner for next year's award if he doesn't turn pro.

"Bond was named the NCAA POY, well Klubnik finished 2nd. Klubnick was QB of the year, well SMU Preston Stone finished 2nd and Avery Johnson finished 3rd.

Washington State's David Gusta was the Defensive POY, well Utah's FS Tao Johnson won the DB of the Year Award.

Michigan's Darius Taylor was the RB of the Year, with Jeanty coming in 2nd ahead of Texas's CJ Baxter who was 3rd.

Boyd won the WR of the Year Award well JR WR Duce Robinson (USC) came in 2nd.

                          BRONCOS GET THEIR REVENGE!!

Boise State and Kansas State have never played each other in football until last season's Round 2 matchup in the 2025 Playoffs where K-State came out the victor on their way to a National Championship Runner up falling to Miami.

The Broncos this year would be without QB Malachi Nelson or RB Ashton Jeanty for the rematch, but BSU would get some good news as #2 QB Maddux Madsen and SR TE Matt Lauter are given a clean bill of health to return to action after missing the 4th Quarter of the Pac-12 title game.

The Hurricanes lost in Round 1 leaving the Wildcats as they only team left with chance to repeat in the title game, but the Broncos put a end to those hopes.

K-State opened the game with the ball an Avery Johnson went straight to work with the 1st of 4 TD's on the day giving K-State the (7-0) lead. BSU answers back though as Maddux Madsen shows no signs of his injury as he finds TE Matt Lauter for the 16 yd score to make it (7-7).

Neither team would score the remainder of the 1st Quarter and both teams would add another TD via the air as Johnson and Madsen both throw their 2nd TD's of the day in the 2nd Quarter to make it (14-14) at the half.

BSU opened the 2nd half receiving the ball, but would need only 1 play to put themselves in the lead as RS FR Dylan Riley (#4 RB) takes the kick inside his own endzone 100 yds for the score making it (21-14). Then after a Johnson INT, BSU would extend their lead to (24-14) as Ferguson-Reynolds connects on a 48 yd FG. Neither team would score the remainder of the quarter as BSU takes the 10 point lead into the 4th.

Johnson shaking off the 3rd Quarter INT throws his 3rd TD of the day to make it (24-21) but Madsen answers right back with his #3 as he hits SR Chase Penry for a 11 yd score to make it (31-21) with just under 5 minutes to play in the game.

K-State not going down without a fight goes right back to the air as Johnson connects on #4 this time on a 71 yd pass and catch to JR WR Quenton Rice as the Wildcats show off their big play ability make it (31-28).

Still with over 4 minutes to play in the game, BSU would go to their ground game to chew up some valuable clock after fighting it out with the Johnson in the air all night.

Jambres Dubar would carry the ball 7 times throughout the drive including his 30 yd TD run to make it (38-28).

A huge defensive stop by the Broncos get the ball back on a turnover on downs with just 1:58 to play. K-State still armed with all 3 timeouts would force the Broncos to still play some football and Maddux Madsen delivered as he throws for 42 yds and runs for another 23 yds on the final series including a 18 yd run that goes for a touchdown..

                          FINAL SCORE BSU-45 KSU-28

Can the Boise State Defense figure out a way to stop the duo of Klubnick and Bond??

BRONCOS COME UP SHORT FALL (35-28) TO TIGERS

If you looked at 90% of the stat sheet you would wonder how Boise State lost this game.

They won the TOP (by almost 8 minutes) they had more 1st Downs (17 to 13), more rushing yards (105 to 20) and more yards of Total Offense (382 to 342) and they converted more 3rd downs (50% vs 41%).

But the Tigers won 2 key areas. Clemson was a perfect 2/2 on 4th downs and perfect inside the redzone with 3 scores, well BSU went 2/4 on 4th downs and scored only 50% inside the redzone with 2 TD.

The game was tied (7-7) after 1 Quarter of play, Tied at the half (21-21) but Clemson took the lead in the 3rd as Klubnik hits Bond for his league leading 24th TD of the season. to make it (28-21).

BSU would tie the game (28-28) on a 35 yd TD run by Sire Gaines, but Clemson answers back with their own rushing TD despite the fact Maurice Turner finished with just 6 carries for 8 yds and the score.

The Broncos had a chance to tie the game twice but failed to convert on 4th downs and the Tigers managed to run out the clock despite not really running the ball, as Klubnik just continued connecting on short pass's.

Klubnik finished the day with 314 yds and 3 TD to go with 1 INT. BSU DB's actually did a decent job on Bond as he finished with just 4 rec for 72 yds and the TD. JR WR Tyler Brown (also had a 1000 yd season) added 4 rec for 81 yds and a score well SO TE Markus Dixon had 7 rec for 77 yds

For BSU Maddux Madse finished the day with 263 yds and 2 scores. Dubar had 14 carries for 67 yds well Gaines had 2 TD's including the 35 yd run.

SR WR Chase Penry finished the day with 10 catches for 116 yds and 1 TD as he finishes the year with over 1000 yds receiving and a team high 14 TD's.
