Re: FIX: Setting Up A 32 Team OFFLINE CFM Instructions

Actually after thinking about this some more, I'm likely to go the route of assuming control of the one coach that I'm playing against for the week, then "retiring" him (giving up control) after the game. It's a step I don't mind taking for 20-30 seconds before and after each game, I could do it as part of my weekly preparation. That eliminates the coach carousel mess at season's end, because the CPU will handle it's own business. It's entirely unnecessary to be controlling all 32 teams in the offseason if you're only worried about getting rid of drive goals during games.

For clarification: It's not exactly 32-team control that eliminates drive goals. It's two users (and perhaps only the SAME user controlling both teams at the coach level) playing each other that causes Drive goals to be inactive. 32-team satisfies that condition of course, but it's one of several paths towards meeting the same goal.

Is there any negative to doing this?

Do you suggest we do online or offline?

It's not possible to do this online unless you have two accounts. And I suspect they'd both need to be PS Plus accounts.

And I'm not suggesting anyone do anything while I'm tossing ideas around in my head....lol. I'm only thinking out loud, I haven't tested any of this. Just wanted to see what others thought of the idea.

I do know that two user-controlled teams in Offline CFM playing each other is the root cause of the drive goal system being inactive.

Others have discussed this very detail throughout the day. I'd love to hear if it works.

I am packers so maybe because of success they naturally are confident when they're 5-2.

I just swapped my Punter for Rodgers at qb and simmed. We are now 6-8 and many players confidences dropped. Rodgers still a 94. So the sim engine seems to work off success in some manner.

Gee wiz!!! EA needs to hire half the people in this forum to test/design Madden. The devs spend a year to put out a feature that mucks up the experience, and these guys in the forums find a workaround in a day or two with only the "finished" product to work with! What's wrong with this picture? Who should be getting paid to put out this game?
I'm truly impressed guy A&S and the rest of you guys.

How do we tell if goals are tracking?

I'm new to Madden. Could someone please explain why we ought to delete the tuner?

And can we start a CFM and use the tuner later if we so choose, or must the tuner be installed when we start? (I.E. Can we turn the tuner on/off within an ongoing CFM depending upon on our preferences?)

Well, you're going to see them popping up during the game if you have XP and Goal feedback turned on. After the game you'll also see something like this in the weekly preparation screen under confidence changes.

If Drive goals are inactive by way of 32-team or any other method, you won't see them pop during the game (even though the ticker showing weekly, season, and milestone goals will show up). And weekly prep will show no mention of "Dynamic Drive Goal +1" - it will only have confidence changes based on the player's in-game performance (stats) or game prep.

Awesome thanks I just go by the cfd rating.

Are you starting up 32 or creating coach each week. How do u retired ischemia without retiring him for good?

My concern with this is if it will work in future seasons. I was under the impression you could only create and retire a coach for any given team once in the life of a franchise, then the option is grayed out for that team.

So hopefully it was just a case of having to delete and re-download it after the patch.
How do I re-download the tuner? Just deleted it. On PS4

Nevermind. Got it. It didn't offer the tuner download the 1st time I entered Madden after deleting it. Closed, re-opened, re-dl'ed.

Re: FIX: Setting Up A 32 Team OFFLINE CFM Instructions

I do 32 owners because I like to control the coaching changes. The way it works if you don't control it is pretty dumb, a lot of times coaches will just switch teams, by year 5 you'll have the whole league with different coaches. The good coaches will just go somewhere else after every 3 year contract. It's more work but it helps me simulate the franchise a little better and doesn't kill my immersion as much.

There are a couple things I've learned you have to do, and I'll share them in case anyone else wants to do this:

                              - you have to keep track of coaches at the end of every team's season. So after the regular season I go through every non playoff team and either resign or fire the coach depending on how they did. Then each week of the playoffs the teams that were eliminated have to be dealt with.

                              - you hire new coaches during conference championship week. So I go to any team that I fired a coach, or had one retire, and hire a different coach.

                              - you can't let a team get negative funds. If you get removed as owner due to negative funds you can't create a new owner. I give money to owners with low funds so they can operate normally and sign players.

                              - after coaching changes you have to change the schemes and playbooks yourself. Otherwise the teams will just keep running the same stuff and going after players that fit the same schemes. The cool part of this is once you do this the teams do a pretty good job going after players that fit whatever scheme you give them, so you can switch teams based on their coach and watch them rebuild a team that fits that coach.

Anyways, probably more work than most people want to do for their franchise but I thought I'd help share some of the pitfalls in case anyone is as much of a football strategy nerd as I am.
