Thought he had a better year last year.

I guess they're also banking on him improving in the second year under the new OC.

Plus, do they have anyone else in the wings?

Its not that Eli is a bad QB. Its just that he is deathly inconsistent and turning 35 this year. And who knows if he falls off a cliff starting this season. Giants have this weird thing about their guys not playing/coaching/GMing on a one year deal. They always have to sign/extend a guy to keep them off that one year remaining. Its like a superstition with this team. I didnt see the harm in letting him show his value this year before signing him to an extension. Especially since we added a no trade clause to it.

And again I reiterate, false starts within five yards of your own goal line should be a safety.

I don't agree at all nor do I recall this ever being suggested before by anyone.

          What's the justification?

I've stated it in the past, though probably not in the past year now that my tiny brain thinks about it.

What's the justification? It's a five yard penalty.

But even more so, it's because offsides against your own endzone should be a TD. The amount of luxury a defense has against a timed blitz/rush for only being penalized half the distance to the goal is shameful. I understand that half the distance is precious yardage for the offense, but it doesn't match the original penalty at all, and it also feels like the defense has a strong advantage when you're looking at half a yard gain or more. If I consider that to be justifiable, the reverse should be true as well.

On that same note, if holding in your endzone is a safety then DPI in your endzone should also be a TD as well.

            Just my opinion, of course.

I would agree with your thought on DPI if it weren't called so tightly anymore but I just wouldn't be on board with a safety coming from a 5 yard penalty just because they are inside the 5.

Then again, I'm someone who hates the XP rule so what do I know.

I like the new XP (one was just missed), but don't agree with awarding points for infractions outside the end zone.

Browns just had to hit a 48 yard XP. I know the penalties are their fault but to me that's excessive.

At least tack on any penalty yards to the kick or something.

That's about where I want the XP to be from to start. LOL. That way either the team thinks more about going for 2 or you have more missed XP's. I don't want it to be a gimme.

The guy on the FanDuel commercial who deposited $35 and won over 2M seems a little too calm. I'd be jumping around for probably 29 months consecutive.

So I don't have NFL Sunday Ticket this year, but apparently I'm watching it right now...

Is it free this week for DTV occupants?

That's because their payouts include "winning" the money you risked back. The guy has probably actually won like 900k.

                                Example
                                -You play a $1 game
-You and your opponent put $1 in
-You win the game and collect $1.80 (FanDuel keeps 10% or, in this case, 20 cents)
-FanDuel says your winnings are $1.80 but they're really $0.80

I'm not saying FanDuel is crap or that $900k is nothing but the numbers they use are exaggerated. The true winnings are actually only 44.44% of the number they use.
