Rolled my ankle pretty good this past week, tripped over a stupid groundhog hole. I was playing really good golf(for me,) but now I gotta take it easy.

Or just come to metro Detroit and get fit by one of the best club fitters in the midwest...
My big concern right now is that I have been playing like garbage. Earlier this season I was smashing my driver straight and was very consistent with my irons, but over the last 2-3 weeks I have been all over the map. I can't decide if I should hold off on the fitting until my swing gets grooved again or if it might actually help me get dialed in again.

      Stupid golf and it's unpredictability!!

That sucks. Hopefully you can still hobble to the practice green and keep your short game on track.

It's so hit or miss with me. Someways I feel like I can't hit a bad shot 50 yards and in, and some days I blade it across the green a few times. My plan is to just relax until league night so I can be confident that my body is 100%

I'm playing my first round since knee surgery back in January. Hoping to not have too much pain and maybe break 100.

It looks like it's time for a new set of irons for me, I just broke the shaft of my 6i. If that one is all rusty, I'm sure the rest are the same, I've had them since 1993.

                Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Health issues have prevented me from playing as much as I would like this year but I’m hoping those are passed and I can get out and play regularly starting in August.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Knee felt good, but my hand did not. I think arthritis is kicking in strong from a surgery a few years ago.

Shot 93 for the first round in a year. I'll take it.

Does anyone else ever notice that they cycle through swing thoughts/habits? I'm noticing that as I've been on the endless journey toward swing improvement, I'm circling back to things I used to try to do that somehow along the way got abandoned, and now I'm trying to do again (e.g. bigger shoulder turn, releasing the club through impact, turning through, etc). I wonder why I stopped doing them in the first place and why my swing drifted away.

I feel like it's a hamster wheel and I can never get off. But I suppose that's why I keep coming back....

Fired an 81 at La Costa in Carlsbad. On a trip to Callaway's headquarters. With mostly TaylorMade equipment in the bag. Trippy.

I am assuming it's the off season so that is why no one is talking golf in here.

I played two weeks ago in 40° weather. Now the ground is cover in 5 inches of snow. I'm ready for spring.

Depends on where you live (!)

I went to a demo day at a local driving range and hit a bunch of irons, as I'm semi-in-the-market for a new set. The clear winner in feel and results (obviously according to me) was the new Callaway Epic forged irons. The faces on those seemed seriously hot and the ball was absolutely flying off the face. I wasn't ready to pull the trigger then and there, but....I came close. I'll still have to give some other sets a shot before I decide, but I'm actually surprised how far iron technology has come since my trusty Titleist 704's that I have yet to part with.

I played a round a couple weeks ago after not playing since I got back from St Andrews back in late August. Played okay but there was definitely some rust haha.

As a club fitter, I will tell you the Epic Forged are probably the longest iron on the market. But be aware if you're hitting the ball high enough to create stopping power on greens, as they are considerably stronger loft, and lower spinning. Also make sure that you're able to properly gap your wedges on the short end of things. That being said. They're an incredible ****ing iron.
