Understandable. Although I personally think im an exception, being that when i went to go test some of the Titleist CB's or P790s last year, I was hitting them all really well. My score usually isnt a product of bad ball striking or anything, moreso a product of not being focused and playing dumb to be honest.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Add my .02, I grabbed the T200 at launch, and absolutely love them. Perfect blend of “help” with precision. I came from M2’s, as I’ve gotten better there were just way too many flyers where I’d catch one and miss 10 yards deep. T200 seem to produce the appropriate launch/flight considering the type of strike I put on them.
Really solid clubs. I’ll be fitting into a new driver this year too. Love the look of the new TM SIM, but will see what the numbers say. TM have a long history of introducing new products that are essentially a visual tweak to the previous model (M5 in this case).Twitch: Goblue81188Comment

We all think we're the exception. Lol. I wanted to play 770's when they were out, but realized I needed the help.
I'm gonna defend my former employer and say that could be further from the truth in recent years. 2016 M2 was my favorite driver ever at the time it came out. 2017 M1 picked up about 2 mph of ball speed and scrubbed 200-300 revs for me from the M2. M3/M4 introduced twistface. Which I'll be honest, I didn't see a significant ball speed jump from M1 to M3, but I did average like 1.8 more fairways per round, so realistically that was saving me a solid 2 strokes over 18 holes. M6 was disgustingly good. For me it was my biggest jump of ball speed and reduction of spin at the time. I'm typically a high spin player. It got me closer to 2800rpms, which is incredibly low for me and legitimately got me 3 mph of ball speed. That led to a solid 8-10 yard gain on average. That being said. I've had the chance to do some testing with SIM and SIM Max. I've already ordered my SIM driver. It kept my spin where I was at, and brought launch down a little. There's not a chance you'll believe what I was able to pick up distance wise. The aerodynamics of this club legitimately got me swinging it 2.5 mph faster, which gained 3.7 ish mph of ball speed, plus improving launch conditions (I also am playing the shaft an inch under standard, so in theory that should have slowed me down). As for SIM Max, for most golfers, this will likely be the 2nd most forgiving driver of 2020, behind the Cobra SZ Extreme. I strongly urge anyone who is in a driver upgrade season to try SIM Max and SZ Extreme. They're incredibly good.St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
What's up guys!
I am hoping to be more active in this thread this year, meaning I've been able to get on the course a hell of a lot more this year than last year due to life.
Anyways, stopping in to see if anyone has any recommendations on a new putter?
I currently have a Ping Voss, but I just don't feel comfortable with it. I'm primarily a PING club guy, but am open to other brands/recommendations.
Thanks and good luck to everyone on the course in 2020!I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I gave up my Scotty Cameron Newport 2.5 for this older Nike B1/01. As you can see I like the blade style putter.
I would try out as many as you can until you find the right one.

Yeah I prefer blade putters myself.
I'm going to try and go this weekend to test some out, but was curious if anyone had "favorite" for me to start with.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
I'll tell ya. Putters are by far the hardest club to fit. I can tell a golfer what length, and how much toe hang they should play. But after that, it's all looks and feel. If you put 100 different putters of my length and toe hangs that work in front of me. I'd rule out probably 50 just on looks, 25 of the remaining 50 on feel. And I'd have it narrowed down to probably 5-8 putters just on sound.St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
I am so excited to see activity in this thread. We are still a ways away from golf season up here where I live, but I never tire of hearing stories about great rounds and listening to what people are playing and how their season is going.
2 seasons ago I moved from a mallet style putter to the Scotty Cameron 2.5 and the difference for me was incredible. I easily knocked 3 strokes off my handicap and have been putting with so much more confidence that it has been so much fun. I love the feel and the sound from this putter and just the site-lines it gives me feels so much better.
I just picked up new irons at the end of last season so am super pumped to be playing them. Got the Calaway Apex Pro 1-2 degree upright and just in the little time I was able to play them last year I felt even better control that with my previous Apex clubs.
I hope everybody has a great start to their season!!!Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
I picked up a Scotty 2.5 at the end of the season last year. I had like $400 in clubhouse fun bucks from coming in 2nd in my league and needed it to spend before the end of the year. I have a work bonus headed my way in a few weeks so I told my wife I want to get fitted for a new driver, not like she has any idea how much that will cost...
I am also not sure If I am going to take my annual golf trip this year. I can't go until the first week in April as I have a child now so I have to wait until my wife's school break. If I can play around here then I will take a staycation, if the weather looks bad then I will head south. Going to have to play it by year. Either way, 2 more months! My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Going to be in the 50's today so I'm heading to the range.
Too wet to play today after all the rain we had and places are working diligently to get the courses in shape for the Spring, so I'll at least get out and hit the ball.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Yeah gotta enjoy that weather while it lasts, cause you never know when the snow is gonna not.
The sports club I belong to just installed a brand new Trackman. I’ve been thinking about getting a few lessons from the pro there as well.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
So went to the range this morning. After warming up with pitching wedge and then 7 iron, I brought out the driver for the first real swing of 2020. I hit it, it feels true and solid, and travels past 250 yard marker straight as an arrow.
At that moment, I thought about packing the clubs away and calling it a season because there is no way I would be able to replicate that drive on a golf course during an actual round..I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
So far I've only missed a total of 2 weeks without playing this winter. Happy about that.
Mainly just trying to get swing more and more natural instead of thinking about positions.
So far so good.
I'm back on nights now so body will be whacked out a while until back to my night shift body.
Looking forward to spring weather for sure even though we've played through the winter so far.
And had zero reason to but the novelty got me..
I ended up grabbing a set of the Ben Hogan Ft Worth 15 irons.
No real changed in bag this year:
Rogue Driver
Rogue 15 3W
Titleist H2 Hybrid
Titleist AP1 Irons 5-AW
52, 56, 60 Vokey SM6
Scotty M2 Newport
I am a season switcher though... not to mention a tinkerer... Cant help it..
At some point I'll be playing the Hogans (Sometime after the grips I ordered come in and I get them on)
I've played 2 rounds so far with them (They cut through turf like no other) but grips are worn a bit and are standard and I need midsize.
Other than that they feel great..Last edited by Skyboxer; 02-16-2020, 10:51 PM.Joshua:
