Picked up a Spider X Chalk today. Love the way it looks. Hoping to love the way it rolls on the greens

Spider X is great. Mindless alignment. Love the look of the chalk. Contemplated getting one, even thought I have a navy one. It's in my rotation with my blade putters. Such a good roll.

Next you need one of the aftermarket Majors headcovers.

Heading out today and probably tomorrow. An unusual couple of days with no chance of rain.

Chilly, and the courses will be wet but have been anxious to get out.

Got out the day after Christmas but these will be my first rounds of 2020.

          Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

I played 9 holes this morning for my first outing of 2020. The course I played only had the front 9 open, as the back 9 is undergoing renovations.

I shot 46 which was 10 over. Not bad considering my first two drives were shanks that led to double bogeying the first two holes.

          1 - PAR 4 - SHOT 6 (+2)
          2 - PAR 4 - SHOT 6 (+4)
          3 - PAR 3 - SHOT 3 (+4)
          4 - PAR 5 - SHOT 5 (+4)
          5 - PAR 4 - SHOT 4 (+4)
          6 - PAR 4 - SHOT 6 (+6)
          7 - PAR 3 - SHOT 5 (+8)
          8 - PAR 4 - SHOT 5 (+9)
          9 - PAR 5 - SHOT 6 (+10)

Wasn't pretty but it felt good to be back out after not playing hardly at all last year. I could've knocked 3 or 4 strokes off but I couldn't roll the ball well on the greens. Didn't have a feel.

My iron play was fairly solid and outside of first two drives, I drove the ball well. If I could've only putted better.

Weather going to prevent any chances of getting out the next few weeks so it felt good to knock a little rust off.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

            The OS Golfer's Thread!

So my first round of 2020 happened to be at Pinehurst No. 2. Holy hell was that an amazing golf course. Might be the best golf course I've ever played. Most, if not every, golf course I've ever played has had at least one dumb hole. That track did not. It was so demanding, so fair, so immaculate. An absolutely amazing experience. For any golf nut like me, I absolutely recommend playing that track one time in your life. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny.

Today we played Tobacco Road. Now that golf course was crazy. Really good golf course, we played No. 2 from 7,000, and Tobacco Road from 6,500. Tobacco Road was more demanding. No out of bounds, and no bunkers on the course. But the entire course is like one giant waste bunker with fairways and greens cut in. It was just a fun golf course. Would definitely recommend. It's a little more affordable too.

I was hitting the new driver really well, and putting my *** off. Just a lot of long shots on two tough courses that had demanding approach shots. At the end of the day, I don't care how I hit the ball. The experience of playing those two golf courses was second to none.

            Some pictures to go with.

                    Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Looks like another week with no golf.
Next decent day looks to be the 7th and 8th.

We are in the middle of planning a trip to Georgia in June so looking forward to that.
No idea where. I was asked if I'd like to go with a group for a 3-4 day trip to golf..
                    Easy answer..
I do plan on hitting the hitting bay/simulator this week to try and keep rust away.

Biggest area to work on is still approaches. I'm hitting greens and or at the green but not really getting a ton of legit birdie looks.

                    Always a W.I.P...

Warm weather surge coming early next week, but so does the potential for heavy rains.

An outside sales rep and myself have planned a golf meeting with one of our customers, depending on if we can dodge the rain.

Nothing like getting paid to play a free round of golf and talk "business".

Got out for my first rounds of 2020 this past weekend. Ball-striking was surprisingly solid, putting was very poor. Eh, that's how it goes. If I can keep improving the consistency of my ball-striking and get my putting to come around, I could be in for a very good season.

Went to the range yesterday. Changed my grip ever so slightly and started hitting some nice shots that didn’t slice.

Got 110 shots in with the whole bag. My back is definitely feeling it today though.

Nooooo don’t say that. My annual Myrtle Beach trip is scheduled from 5/19 - 5/26. 40 guys this year. Our largest group ever. If this is canceled talk about being bummed. Keeping the fingers crossed.

                                Yeah I know.
Our main fun starts 3/29 but now we're going a day early for a round on the 28th.
We got text today saying all still ok and unless they are forced to shut down we'll be ok..
Really looking forward to it so hopefully all goes as planned.
