I was with a guy yesterday who got a hole in one. It was during a league match and he hit a nice shot on an uphill par 3, he even mentioned that it had a chance. I hit a really similar shot so I knew it’d be close. I get on the green and see my ball about a foot away from the pin and I knew he got it.

Gotta admit, i was a bit jealous but it was still cool to see it happen.

Went out yesterday for the second round of the year and shot 75 (par 71). It was a gorgeous day and played with the wife and my parents. Hit a lot of good shots. Triple bogeyed hole 10 drove it in the water then proceeded to chuck 3 more shots.

Felt really good to be out there. I am in some pain but that's what you get for foregoing your pre-season stretching and exercising routine. Also, I am usually 2000 swings at the range in by now, but haven't been once. I am just going to enjoy this golf now before I try to start golfing and screw everything up.

The Sheep Ranch at Bandon opens today. Man, what I wouldn't give to get up there and give it a whirl right about now....

Having trouble with a decision so I figured here would be the best place to ask...

Better investment, new fitted golf clubs or a PC?

That really depends on how long your golf season is.

                        Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Got out for my first post-lockdown round last weekend. Definitely a mixed bag, and the short to mid irons are going to take some time to come back around. Lost a lot of strokes to poor approaches.

Can't really comment on the putting, because how many of the putts that hit the stupid pool noodle would have been in? I have no idea.

Here's the only thing I know for certain: it was an absolute pleasure to be back out on the course getting sun and fresh air, and swinging the clubs with purpose again. It will be a long time before I take that for granted again.

It's been really rough the last 4 years, I used to play most days from April to October with good weather since early 80s. I went from eye surgery on both my eyes, my dad's dying, fil dying after being in hospital for 6 months, detached retina, covid and wife with a rotator cuff tear this year. Not a single round so far this year and can't see when I'll play one. I really, really miss real golf.

                                The OS Golfer's Thread!

Just unsatisfied with my bag this year and pretty much gutted it. Only kept my Cleveland CBX2 56 and 60 degree wedges and my Scotty putter.

                                TaylorMade Sim 10.5 driver
                                TM Sim 5w
                                TM Sim 22 degree hybrid
                                TM Sim Max OS Irons

                                Had the irons fitted.
