      Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Gorgeous clubs, man. MP68's, how do they feel? I'm still rocking my MP5's.

Wish I could get more golf in, but weather has been hit or miss. It says 60 outside, but then the wind is crazy.

Have to accept my season is over, and overall...I'm ecstatic.

      .....

      2017 goal; 13 handicap

      June 2017; 16 handicap

      November 2017; 11.7 HCP

My goal was to shoot 85 or under, and with that in mind, it got me to where I needed to be, actually exceeding as my goal was to get to a 13. I have to thank my MP5 irons, but also my coach who taught me how to be a bit more accurate inside 100 yards. Has made a huge difference. I stopped being obsessed with hitting the ball long, and just aimed for a power fade into play.

Anyway, thought I'd share. Hoping to sneak in a round before the year's over..we'll see!

They feel great Matt. I love my AP1's but if I had to pick I'd go with the MP68's.
(Of course new sticks = Love at first lol )

Full disclosure: This was the first time I've used blades so I was a bit nervous playing with them the first time but that was unnecessary as I hit them great.
The feedback on off center hits was a lot more prevalent than the AP1's
        Shot a 43 front and 39 back for a +10 round.

Anyways I hope to get out a few more times depending on what MRI and plans for any fix for hip entail.

I do plan on grabbing at least the 4I during the offseason as well as a 3 or 2 as I simply hate hitting hybrids anymore.

Hoping to get out late this week or early next week. It's supposed to be nice out here and some courses are still open. Might as well try and get a round or two in still. Really had a reigniting of my interest for golf late in the year with putting P790s in the bag, as well as the Ardmore 2 putter for the last round I played. Just not ready to be done playing for the year. Though I'm ready for our new product to launch in winter. Should be some good stuff.

Well after X-Rays then an MRI..
I'll be having hip surgery in 2 to 3 weeks.
            Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Hopefully get out at least one more time before then if weather permits...

I failed to post that a few weekends ago I did get out and play 9 holes. We won't discuss the scoring.....but man did it feel good to get back out there and swing the clubs.

Sorry to hear that, but hopefully everything goes well and it will have you back out there ripping it 3-hundo down the middle in no time.

Great to hear. Getting out there is the key; who cares about the scoring? I mean, for now anyway....

Yeah I'll care come spring time. I was just happy that I played the 9 holes only losing one golf ball.

Well the next step is done. 2 shot's directly in hip.
Pain has left but will return. Before surgery they wanted to do the shots then go from there.
I go back Jan 9th and If the pain has returned by then they will schedule me for surgery.

At least the holidays will be over by then

So....2017 was a good golf year for me. If 2018 is even close to as good, that would be phenomenal. By year's end, I was pretty consistently in the 80's to low 90's, which is at least a 7-8 stroke improvement for me over the previous year. I think a good goal for me for 2018 would be to be consistently in the 80's, with only the occasional score outside of that. The game is coming around, though, after hitting an absolute nadir ~3 years ago.

Here's to good health and happy golfing in 2018!

I'm sure a few of you know I work for TaylorMade, so in the most unbiased way possible. Any of you guys who are looking for new clubs for the 2018 season. I highly recommend checking out our new drivers and irons. I've had the chance to hit the new product. Holy hell is the M4 driver awesome. I'll definitely be swapping out a few things in my bag again this year.

YEah my phone was going nuts this morning... friends texting me that it was going to be in the 50's and wanting to get out.
I was certainly up for it. Teed off at 12:30. Course was in good shape and surprisingly the greens were receptive enough that you didn't have to play the "Hit short and use run out" game.

Now though I am back to having the itch.. Can't wait to get back out.
