The easiest fix for this to adjust your stance really close it up. With a closed stance it forces you to swing inside the ball and you should start drawing the ball then as you get used to bringing the backswing inside the ball you can adjust your stance more to neutral.

Just a matter of regrouping and going back to the range tonight, then a follow up lesson tomorrow. I know I'll get it back soon enough!Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Been playing fairly well to start the year. Carded 83, 79, 37, had a real stinky 88 (with 7 penalties) the other day, but bounced back the next 2 days with a 77 and a 73. Things are looking back up.
Love my new Ping God by the way.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
I'm back on track, guys. Really enjoyed my brief meeting with the certified pga instructor, JB Kim, today. This was my 2nd lesson, but more official since he was still studying my best swing style.
I'm a shorter guy, about 5'8, stocky at 205, so he questioned me on why I was using a two-plane swing like Ernie Els, who can use plenty of leverage swinging with his arms and upper body. So we spent more time on getting my one-plane/rotary swing, something I had only tried via online websites, but never had instruction in person before. I recalled to him that this was the way I was swinging when I was much better player (single digit handicap) and just went off feel more than technique. He agreed, and showed me some other "small, but big" things in the set up that were essential.
He kept it very simple for me. My rotary swing was going to be a hip swing, but focusing on the butt of the club in my stomach/belly button. This was so easy to control the length of the swing, my only difficulty was longer swing on the follow through in making sure my hands turnover so I'm not hitting these blocks because I'm trying to hold on like before.
What was really nice was that my swing felt shorter, more compact, and my right leg wasn't straightening up on the backswing as much as before.
Overall, glad I've found an instructor in my area that teaches a swing grooved for my body type, not just throwing in the same swing styled template like a lot of instructors do.Comment

The OS Golfer's Thread!
Well I've decided to go snag me a new set of irons. Always been a Ping man and I just can't play anything else.
Hung up between G25's which are $599, G30's & G's both $799. Gutting my bag which I do every 3 years or so. I've already snagged a 56 and 60 degree Mizuno MP-T5 wedges. A change from what I've used in the past Cleveland wedges.
My handicap has been around a 11-12 when I'm playing my best. I've told myself this is the year I'm gonna gut my bag and take a series of lessons to elevate my game.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
I have this creep in every so often. For ME it's always a too much inside out path/ with a (me being lazy) lack of a good hip turn causing a block with an open face to path.Joshua:

The OS Golfer's Thread!
Received a email from Dicks Sporting Goods this morning 20% off 1 item today only. Dicks had the G25's for $599. The guys said he would try the coupon but thought it wouldn't work on Ping clubs. Low and behold it went through and I paid $507.96 out the door.
Think I'm gonna go home and just look at them for a while because they sure are pretty!!

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Anyone got any advice on maintaining a consistent grip pressure through the swing.
When I'm at the practice ground I can strike the ball pretty solid for the most part but I find that on the course my grip can get a little tight & start to affect the strike quality on my shots.Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Makes me sad that all I have done this year is look at my clubs and even if I can get to a couple of company events my game will be so rusty I don't know if I would want to embarrass myself infront of clients.....That new dad life lol.Moderator

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Went to play nine after work today, ended up flying through the front nine and carded a 41. Birdied the first hole, had four one putts. Felt great, played the back nine afterwards. Shot a 40 with five one putts. My up and down game is absurd right now. I'm struggling off the tee, though improving with a recent driver and mechanical change, but my game from 100 yards and in is the best it's ever been. Wedges and Scotty on the dance floor has been spectacular. Hope I keep it up.St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams
