      Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

My country club is opening on Saturday. I've got a 10:07 tee off and I'm booked up for the week ahead. So excited for the season to start.

Also, I bought the Nike Flyknit golf shoes today.
I am the lesson after the fall.

The money season starts tomorrow and the nice weather showed up just in time going to be 75 and sunny both Saturday and Sunday. Start the year with a 3 man scramble $100 buy in, 36 teams. I don't have the team together that I would like but we will give it a go. Rules state you can only have 1 pro per team so that gives you an idea of what we are up against, but I took some money out of it a few years back with a 3rd place tie finish so we will see, but I'm not too confident. Both my partners haven't been out yet this year.

Then Sunday just playing for fun and get some practice in before the skins game start next week.

            Well..

Front 9 freaking 53... Just such a letdown.
Maybe my age or something but must take me forever to loosen up...
            Back 9 42
            95 total...

            Onward we go ....

Got out today. Played 9 for the first round of the year. Carded a 43. I wouldn't say that's too bad. The new driver wasn't to bad at all. Wedges and putting were pretty solid, so that's promising. Piped a 185 or so yard show with a 4 iron out of knee middle of the calf deep **** after a drive sailed, dropped it in the green with a 10 footer left to clean up. That was the most promising shot of the day.

Heading out for my first full round of the year on Sunday. I've only played a hole 9 hole par 32 course this year. I shot +3 as my short game let me down that day. I'm looking forward to seeing how my game from 125 yards and in is. That was my main focus during the winter months.

9 more today, shot a 44. Not upset about that for being early in the year. Had a couple soggy shots with wedges that I didn't get a good divot on, kinda costed me a couple shots. But the driver feels good. Putter is getting there. Not bad.

Solid round, man. That's about what I am shooting on a good day. Somehow last year, I managed a +6, 76 at my local muni course. Since then it's been fluctuating between mid-high 80's to mid 90's.

Just got a lesson yesterday from a PGA certified instructor, made it ridiculously easy for me now. Course better watch out tomorrow!

Playing my first round of the year tomorrow with some college buddies at Akers West. Got a Ping G for my birthday in February that I have only hit it on the range a few times.Should be entertaining.

                        ...47-36-83. Was -4 from 7 to 14. Lol.

I can return to playing golf on May 7th!

So close but yet so far away.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Played my 6th round of the season today and broke 80 for the first time. Shot a 79 and that include a triple bogey on one of the easiest holes on the course. If I can replicate the way I was swinging today, it should be a fun season. I don't expect many sub 80's, but my swing has come around thanks to my coach.

The push slices have crept back into my game. Need to find a fix ASAP, because this was the worst round I've had in 10 years. I've shot 70, 76 as my lowest scores, but today it ballooned up to a 103. I haven't shot 100 in about 10 years, seriously, so bad.

Maybe a swing coach to help get your swing back. Maybe see something you're not.
