    Got mine at Lowes...

I use them whenever I start a range session. Also like to use them on grass ranges to keep butt and hip position stable. Great little aids for little cost.

      Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

      Thanks for the tips everyone.

Since I'm currently borrowing someone else's clubs, I need to buy some new ones. I don't have a huge budget so I'm looking at some clone brands, mainly gigagolf and pinemeadow. Does anyone here have any experience with either of them?

I have a Pinemeadow Wedge. I wanted to get something that I could be money with a full swing around 60-65 yards.. so I grabbed a 68 (yes 68) degree wedge. The club is very fun to hit.

Anyways I ordered it online and was delivered in due time etc..

Just think about the pricing. I know you can get Taylor Made Burner Irons right now for only $299.99
Then if you go in store to get them you get free fitting which is worth it IMO.

Go with the taylormade clubs. I opted for the more expensive set that came with the hybrids and I love these clubs. You won't regret it.

Gigagolf, so easy - customizable to your height and weight. Why not - it only costs under $200 for a set in some cases. Plus you could pimp it out with great shafts and grips.

Rob, those tour sticks can be bought at lowes or home depot for like $4 for 2; they are called driveway markers - good purchase eitherway as they've helped my alignment out significantly. If you really want to force yourself, you can stick them in the ground at an angle and make sure you're on plane coming down - yikes!

Yeah, but I was there and I have been reloading my golf bag, and closet all year after not playing at all in 2012. I've got so many $20 off coupons from "Richard's" sporting goods and Golf Galaxy Advantage that I can get 10 boxes of e6 balls for $5 the rest of the season.

Yeah I am 16.00 away from another 10.00 coupon. I made a 30 dollar purchase tonight (Hat and tees) so that will get me there.

Well I think I'm ready for tomorrow.
Was really hitting my driver well.
250'ish carry with a couple a bit longer with slight draw and within 10 yards l/r of target.
Irons were decent but still need some work as far as consistent contact but certainly playable.

I used to have the Sonocaddie but went from that to just a laser range finder. Since I like toys I want to get a watch to use which would be a few seconds quicker.

You can also go to www.oobgolf.com and create an account (free) and enter all your rounds you play and as many stats as you want to enter and it keeps track of it.... (Handicap, scores on par 5's par 4's etc..)
So far the sight had all the courses I've played so it just pulls the slope rating etc.. automatically.

You also can enter what clubs you have in your bag, select what club you tee'd on on each hole, weather conditions when you played that round.. really as much data as you want to give them it will keep.

                      pretty cool.

Manually tracking my stats and then posting them on that site + a GPS watch wouldn't be that bad. GPS watches are legal for tournament play, right?

I know the PGA made changes a few years ago that:

"allows tournament committees and organizers a choice of implementing a "Local Rule" this states "The Committee may make a Local Rule allowing players to use devices that measure or gauge distance only". Some tournament committees will and will not adapt the "Local Rule", so I would always suggest that you check with them first."

PGA players/caddies will use them in practice rounds etc.. but they don't use any in the live events.
I don't play in any type of sanctioned tourneys etc.. so until I'm on the Senior tour, all's fair. lol

I just love hos "Richard's" will send me all these bonus point things in the mail. 200 bonus points for spending $25. I mean, buying a new driver, and 3-wood didn't hurt either. Then I have purchased 4 new nike golf short/shirt matching combos from golf galaxy at around $130 a pop, and then the Lunar Control shoes so I have spent a few bucks this spring. So When I see little things in the stores that I want, I just run out to my car and grab one of the cupons. Last thing I will probably get this summer is another outfit and a pair of glasses. I fought the urge to get a pair of the TW13s for the discounted price of $129, because my Bday is coming up and I may be able to get them then.

I actually like my range finder more than the GPS that I have seen/used. I get exact yardages and not just distance from the green. I have a 3 year old Bushnell and it is awesome, my home course has the flag sticks that have the lazer things on them (the expesnsive and nicer course by work does not for some reason) so I get really exact yardages, the guys in my cart on the weekend love it too.

Also, thinking about booking a couple of 30 minute lessons at Golf Galaxy at lunch its about 10 minutes down the road from the office and now that it's getting hotter out, I just wear slacks and a golf shirt to work anyways. Might was well I suppose.

Yeah you're spot on about the range finder -and coupons!
While the watch would be quicker for green distances the finder is great for targeting certain location like front bunker or other areas (layup spots) you want.

                              Good call.
I'll stick with my laser lol
It does get "somewhat annoying" when others in group will yell over "What do I have here"..
                              Seriously.. get your own ****!!

My purchases are done. My next "big one" will be for next year when I grab my new irons.

Man I want to buy one of those Bushnell range finders, but I find it very hard to justify spending 350$+ on something like that. I take golf very seriously, but man that's alot of cash to shell out.

When I think of it though, back in February I spent over $400 on my Nike Covert Tour Driver haha.
