    Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

    Well best laid plans...
I was supposed to be off tonight as I put in vac...
Well I'm at work at least until midnight. We got behind on some things so I volunteered to cancel vac 1/2 the night.

Still should be "ok" if I can get home for a power nap.

      Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

IF we are talking about our suggested short games, swing techniques then I'd recommend Stan Utley as an alternate approach to the hinge-hold method that Mickelson uses.

Damn, if money wasn't so tight for me right now I'd be at the range every day trying all these techniques from the videos I'm watching, haha.

At least chipping and putting on the greens is free. So the short game work is free

And coincidentally the most important part of your golf game.

Well they are doing a night golf tournament on base today/tonight and I will be off to probably be embarrassed by these old men who play so much.

After about 5 weeks off, I will be hitting the links tomorrow. Hopfully my back holds up and I can go out again on Monday. My ball test has shifted from the Q-Star and NXT-Tour S, to the Bidgestone e6 and the NXT-Tour S. I loved the Z-star, but the Q-Star and I don't get along it seems.

Well, still trying to cope with this news. I had minor back surgery about two weeks ago and I'm done for the year. Granted I haven't touched my clubs since October of '12. I feel great now, in fact better than I have in about two years. Its killing me feeling this good and unable to play. I will cave eventually, its inevitable.

All your guys talk is depressing.

I just got back from my MRI, I did NOT tear ny ACL, thank god. But I did damage most of the cartilage in my knee cap and around my knee, plus a nice bone bruise and a slight tear on the ligament holding the knee cap in place.

Don't see my ortho again until Wednesday so I don't know how long I'll be out of commission. I do know that it still hurts like all hell and I don't see being back out anytime soon.

Sorry to hear it. It absolutely does suck knowing it'll be a while when all your buddies get out every weekend.

I hurt my knee last Sunday during my hockey game. Only the 2nd game of the season too, which is a major bummer. No hockey, no golf.

Well it was a fun day but I'm spent.
Worked Wednesday night (12 hrs) then found out late I had to work part of Thursday night.
Got home and had just enough time to shower and sit in recliner for about 3 hrs before heading to course for 7:30 tee time today.

We finished -6 and winners had -11.
Brutal conditions today with 10-15 mph winds and cold.
Was fun nonetheless and raised some good money for Hospice.

After the golf trip earlier this year and today I'm ready for some golfing in at least 70 degree weather !! Lol

Overall was very happy with my ball striking. Was hitting irons great and was in fairway all day with driver.

Well I just got back. We played a foursome, best ball. Was a lot of fun we ended up with a -1 overall. I sank a nice birdie putt on the first hole we played and hit my driver good. Night golf is significantly harder than I thought it would be, but it was a lot of fun.

Sounds like a pretty good score considering the conditions.

Finished a fun, if not frustrating round. The wind was brutal and added a nice challenge to the round as a whole. I was fighting my swing the whole round though. I couldn't for the life of me release the club head (save for two or three shots.).

But I managed to par the hardest hole on the course. It has water short, right and a creek in the middle of fairway about 100 yds from the green. My Tee shot was into a stiff wind and my ball barely made it over the water short. So it only went about 100 yards (seriously). My second shot I hit a solid 3-wood that was heading into the creek, but the golf gods were smiling at me as my ball hit a rock and bounced into the short rough. My third shot I decided to hit an approach wedge into the green, at the last minute I switched to my pitching wedge and hit it to about 8 feet from the pin. Nailed a downhill left to right put for a miracle 4!

Sounds like you had some good things in your round and as long as it was fun that's what matters. Do you hit a really high drive? I couldn't imagine wind that hard that would limit your drive to 100 yards if you didn't skyball it.
