Don't you love that. You want to play through, but you're so rusty - you're not sure it'd benefit.

Even then, as long as the sun is not setting, I just want to be on the course - man, can't wait.

Btw, when I played last friday, the last 3 holes was after sun set and it was soo dark - not sure how I found my ball; let alone shooting EVEN for 3 holes in the dark, lol.

Can't go wrong with Nike Pro Combos or Mizuno. Like I said, i've bought used set of MP-33s and there is no better feeling than a forged mizuno iron through a golfball - it's like butter.

The mp-33s are blades right? I don't know which direction to go with Mizuno. I know I can hit blades properly 7-pw. I'd also like to be able to work the ball when 160 and in. It's the longer irons I know with my swing blades would do more harm then good.

Yes, they're blades. I would say they are pretty forgiving though - when it comes to blades. You can work the ball easily - it's rated as one of the best irons in the mizuno line of all time.

Was able to get out yesterday. 50 degrees but the wind was gusting up to 25 mph at times. A very challenging round

We were in the 50's but wind was only around 10-15, not a bad day weather wise. I sucked it up though - and lost my swing multiple times. Putted out of my mind though with only 1 three put.

                How'd you fair?

I shot a 95 YIKES!!!! Never could get a groove going. My buddy and I where a twosome riding behind a foursome walking and they never offered to let us play through so we had to wait on every shot. Talk about frustrating:banghead:

Hit some nice drives and my short game was solid but at times in my backswing I could feel the wind throwing me off a bit. Gotta blame the 95 on something.

Still grateful to get out and play

I should have my VR Pro combos here either today (monday) or tomorrow. Cannot wait.

I also stumbled upon these, might pick one up for my driver and fairway wood. I've always liked these kind of headcovers.

                      Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

I just moved to Southern California recently and am itching to get out and get a round in. I'm gonna have to re-learn my distances as I'm coming from playing in Denver for the last 3 years, but I'm excited to get out and hit it around.

My girlfriend got me a gift card to Sports Authority to use on a new driver. I'm planning to go to a place where I can hit a few different ones to try them out then hopefully find it at Sports Authority to buy it.

Can't believe I've never seen this thread! For a little background info, I played high school golf and was actually pretty good. I probably could have gone to play for a very small school or a community college but never really had the urge to play past high school. My handicap was 2 at my peak, but it's probably closer to 7 or 8 now.

Thinking about trying to pick my game back up (currently only hit the links a few times a month), but I'm a little scared to start taking the game seriously again. I may just wait until I can nab a nice summer membership somewhere. Anyway, nice to see some golfers on OS! I just read through almost 50 pages of posts, it was great hearing everyone's stories.

Yeah I'm sure there are a lot of golfers here on OS that don't even know this thread exsists.

Glad to see you've found the thread!

Looks like Phil Mickelson needs to birdie one of his last two holes right now to shoot a 59.

Nope. Left a putt dead center but an inch short on the next to last hole. Now needs a 30-footer on the last to get it. Unfortunate. Wow, it lipped out. He had a legitimate shot at 58. Insane.

Playing my first round of golf of the year tomorrow at Tukwet Canyon in Beaumont, CA. It's an alumni outing for the baseball team that I coach for, so it should be a lot of fun.

Got a TaylorMade Burner Superfast 2.0 driver this morning and I'm pumped to use it. I've hit one before and swung it really well so I'm hoping I can hit it well tomorrow. Gonna be my first round since October, so I'm not expecting too much. If I can break 90 I'll be very happy.

Those are great drivers, I've never had a problem with TaylorMade drivers. Good luck!
