    Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

I think the norm is 46, but like I said mine is 50. I can play it like a 46 just as well though. Not in any way comparing myself, but I also read that Tiger carries a 50 PW, 56, and 60

Realistically, I don't need anything other than a PW and a 56 or 58, I just carry extra wedges because I don't need a 3w or 5w. I hit a 3w about 15 yards shorter than my 1i and less accurate. I've thought of removing my 62 and replacing it with a 2i so there isn't the 35 yard gap between my 1 and 3 irons though.

      The OS Golfer's Thread!

My Wedges are all titlelist. PW is 44, gap is 48 the. 52 and 56 degree. The 52 and 56 are SM4s. I LOVE my 56. I use it from 80 yards and in for a variety of shots. I've holed out from the fringe and just off the green 5 times this year. Opening the face and what not I can do a lot with that club.

My 48 and 52 overlap a bit. The 48 is the AP1 and I can't spin it or work it much but it's better for me to control flight. I have a really nice knockdown shot with the 48. My 52 is my "ball durability tester" the face just melts balls. It's the club in my bag that I can get the ball to "dance" on the green with the most.

I used to have a 60 but that was just too much loft for me and I would hit everything fat while leaving 2 ft Beaver tails in my wake.

Well, here's the "new" swing. Trying to fix my swing path and stop hitting across the ball.

Thanks for your input, and yea, they are high spin balls, which I prefer. I'm not a great golfer, but respectable. Ended up shooting a 93 that day at a fairly tough course.

The Project (a)'s have way too much side spin off the driver for me. I didnt like the feel of them at all. Maybe I'm too used to the Chromes, but I rarely slice my chromes, usually just a fade, nothing hard. Hit a few Project a's solid, but when I mis-hit my drive, the sidespin was much more apparent than any other ball I've played.

          Trying Srixon Q-Stars tomorrow.

Played a quick 9 after work today. Shot +1. Had a birdie putt on the last hole to shoot even but pulled it right horribly. I bogey'd the first hole and par'd all the rest. I'm really happy with where my game is at. I'm hitting my irons as far and as accurate as I ever have (I think my irons are starting to go too far now...) and my short game is on point. I can feel a round in the 60's happening, I'm so close. I have a decent amount of birdie putts that I just don't drain which lead to all the pars. If one or two of those pars were birdies I'd be laughing.

If anyone is watching this RBC Canadian Open, are you getting as much of a laugh as I am out of CBS' attempt to use exclusively Canadian bands for their transition-to-commercial music? I mean, they're really reaching at this point...they started off okay with The Band and even Bryan Adams, but now they're scraping the bottom of the barrel with the likes of Avril Lavigne and (gag) Nickelback.

Went out for 18 yesterday at the home course with my brother. Hit for the cycle on the par 5's with a bogey, a double, a triple, and a quad. Played the other 14 holes at +2. It was one of the weirdest days ever. Hit my drive out of bounds on every Par 5 and on 2 of them I also put one in the water.

Had 3 birdies yesterday though, 2 on par 3's.

A lot of pictures coming out for the new 716 iron line from Titleist. Out of everything though the new T-MB irons have seriously peeked my interest.

                  http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/...quicken-loans/

If I've been reading correctly, these irons are a blade type iron but they're hollow kind of like the 714U hybrid irons that Titleist has. Apparently the Titleist staff pros are just all over these at the moment. I grew up playing old cut down used blade irons when I was young and I've been using the 712 AP2's simply because they're more forgiving than a blade, allow me to work the ball, and at address they slightly resemble a blade. So if these T-MB irons are as forgiving as people say they are but play like a blade, I maybe switching irons when these guys hit the stores.

They look like old muscle-backs...maybe hence the "MB" moniker?

My god, those irons are beautiful.

Coincidentally, was just looking into upgrading to the 714s. Now I will wait if what they say is true.

Great job, very nice article, and many congrats on your progress! Happy flag-hunting. For what it's worth, your index is better than mine and my only pain on the course comes when I punch the golf cart in anger after a shank...

I noticed that. Pay attention to it during NBC's NFL games too because they do it with artists from the city they're in.

As for the tournament, I was really hoping the Canadian guy was going to hold on. I think the graphic they kept showing said the last Canadian winner was in 1954.

Ya, it's been a long haul for Canadian golfers. One of these years we will win it.

Rumours going around the golf world that Tiger Woods has let Chris Como go and is going at it alone. Chris Como was nowhere to be found on the range with Tiger at the Quicken Loans National the past few days.

If this is true, this is what Tiger should've done from the start. The guy needs to get away from all this mechanical BS and get back to playing with feel and natural ability.
