Got a email this morning from Sony thanking me for a couple of purchases. The funny thing is I haven't had a PS3 since the System hack last year. There was $$ in my wallet and somehow someone has been using it. Thank goodness I ordered a new CC when all this went down last yr.

Oh well I do plan on picking up a new system when The Show drops in a couple of months to get my baseball fix.

College Sports Apps Come to PS3
Just in time for the Missouri Tigers to join the SEC.

When the PlayStation Store is updated this afternoon, videophiles will have two new college sports apps to download. The XOS College Sports and SEC Digital Network applications won't cost you a penny (though there is some paid content inside them), but they will offer you a look at pre-game, post-game and classic content for your favorite sports.

Post-game highlights immediately after the game as well as a "Game of the Week" extended highlight

In this author's opinion this is great, but you won't have any real reason to use these apps until the University of Missouri Tigers join the SEC next year.

Hey everyone,

It’s a release of great new content on PlayStation Store, including new games and some amazing first looks at some of 2012’s most anticipated titles!

Today, we complete the Final Fantasy PS one Classics presence with the release of Final Fantasy Origins. See the roots of the Final Fantasy series with this collection, which includes Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II. These versions sport updated presentations from their original 8-bit debuts but retain the same gameplay that launched this venerable franchise.



Additional games headlining the New Releases include Crazy Machines Elements and Choplifter HD. Create series of chain reactions in the latest addition to the award-winning Crazy Machines series or jump into a classic arcade adventure reimagined in HD with Choplifter HD! Both also have demos available for download.

You’re not going to want to miss two new demos hitting today: Asura’s Wrath and Final Fantasy XIII-2. On one hand, you’ll be able to try out parts of two episodes from Asura’s Wrath, featuring larger than life combat. On the other, try out the gripping RPG combat with Final Fantasy XIII-2 and glimpse what awaits this classic cast on their next adventure.

We hope you’ve been enjoying this month’s PlayStation Plus free games, and this week, we’re rolling out some great discounts available for subscribers. With some of 2011’s biggest PSN releases on sale, you’ll want to check out the Plus category in PlayStation Store to pick up some titles you might have missed! Killzone coming to PSN

[Update] Sony confirmed to Game Informer it will release Killzone on PlayStation Network. The game will cost $9.99 and release on January 24. This is a port of the original PlayStation 2 title.

[Original Story] It seems the first Killzone title will soon be making its way to PlayStation 3. The Entertainment Software Ratings Board recently published a rating for the game for PS3, which typically signals its eventual release.

It's unlikely this is a complete "remaster" of the original PlayStation 2 version, but instead simply a digital title of the original available through PlayStation Network. Sony began selling PlayStation 2 titles last October through its "Only on PSN" program.

We reached out to SCEA for additional information and we'll update this post if we hear back.

Would have liked an HD release with trophies......for $10 not bad.

The PS3 Full Game category sees a new wave of content including what many consider to be two of the greatest games of all time: ICO and Shadow of the Colossus; now available separately in HD for the first time.

To cap things off, PlayStation Plus subscribers are now the first to access the Public Beta for the highly anticipated third-person shooter Starhawk.
