    Re: Xbox One

Why can't they do the authentication checks every 48 or 72 hours, that way if your internet goes out you have a chance to get it fixed before the next authentication check. Sometimes the cable man can't make it out to your home to fix the internet for a few days if not longer. So what if a friend can borrow your game for a few days, is that so bad? This is a classic case of inconveniencing the majority, just to catch a few bad seeds.
Still though if you don't have the internet at all, your SOL with the Xbone.

That is why I referenced BigJoe's quote about the initial Xbox having just the ethernet connection. This is something they have always believed. And they are right (for the most part). But that is not to say MS wins over Sony or vice versa. But I'm a big Xbox Live fan. I like what they have done with it from an entertainment perspective and also how it has enhanced gaming. My thinking is that Xbox Live has grown in a positive way for gaming and I see it continuing to do so.
We're pretty much in agreement on all of that. My concerns come with those in the military who like to take the consoles overseas and play when they aren't on duty. Many times, those guys aren't going to have internet connections. Then you have those who live in very rural areas where internet either isn't available or is limited in usage. I just don't feel it was very intelligent to alienate a fairly large group of your clientele. With that said, it's Microsoft's system and they can do with it what they please. If you're okay with it, purchase it. If not, look at the PS4 or stick with your 360/PS3.

I got in on the Xbox one Pre order as well. Im actually more interested in it. But that extra $100 is an extra 2 games or a game and a extra controller. 5 months to make up my mind.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

Never understood console wars. How about I enjoy my console and you enjoy yours.

If you get your feelings hurt over someone spending their money the way they want, gaming might be too high on your priorities.

Before you guys preorder bundles from GameStop, and I know it's probably been mentioned before, watch out. I know for the PS4, they have a couple of bundles for like $509 or $519.. That's the PlayStation 4 ($399) and a game ($109). I'm not sure if it's like that for the Xbox, I haven't checked.. Just watch out.

It's Xbox exclusive as far as we know. Makes me a little sad as well. I really was impressed by it. And was kind of pumped to play Sunset Overdrive as well.

If you just ordered it today, no, you won't get it on release day as Amazon has been sold out of the 1st shipment for a couple days now. It is the Day One Edition, you just won't get it on release day.

I'm looking at their site now and it looks like those packages for $519 come with a game and an extra controller. Nothing funny about their pricing there.

I don't think it really had anything to do with the X1 as much as I just felt like the PS4 was the console for me. As long as your happy with it, that's really all that matters. I had to hear the same thing when I got a PS3 instead of a 360.
What you got a PS3 over the 360! The 360 was 200 dollars cheaper and LIVE will be awesome! Sony isn't going to be around much longer due too........wait a minute. This sounds like now except Sony and Microsoft reversed and it looks to me Sony is doing pretty fin in the console department. Lol.

This is just kind of a general observation/post but has anyone else found their passion of gaming sort of rekindled by all the next gen stuff?

Not to say I had fallen out of love with gaming but TBH I haven't really played anything on my 360 since I was heavily into Blops II and the majority of my gaming has been on the NES/arcades. Not too mention a lot of the attention & $$$ I normally put towards gaming was going to other hobbies.

But once the Sony and MS reveals came and now with E3 I find myself totally rejuvenated and looking forward to the coming of this next gen...it's totally sparked something in me. I cannot wait to get the XBO and eventually the PS4 and tinker with them and play all these incredible looking games coming out. I'm fully back in it and gaming is back at the top of the hobby ladder for me and by quite some margin too.

I usually don't think like this but damn winter can't get here soon enough....

My sentiment exactly. If you look at the evolution of the 360 it is impressive. The dashboard has changed so much over its lifespan. I mean Netflix wasn't even a thought when the 360 was first released. Now look at it, it's a major part of the console. Microsoft is setting themselves up so they're ready for whatever the future has in store. They haven't let me down yet.

Honestly I hope both consoles do well. Competition is good for us the consumer and these companies are too big to fail anyways.
