    Great article
Good conversation back & forth at the bottom of that article.

Just out of curiosity, how do you know you don't want it? It's fairly safe to say the new Kinect is infinitely better than the old Kinect.

The tug-of-war between Microsoft and Sony just got more interesting. Multiple sources inform me Microsoft will announce what amounts to a complete reversal on its DRM policies for Xbox One today.

        What does this mean?

        • No more always online requirement
        • The console no longer has to check in every 24 hours
        • All game discs will work on Xbox One as they do on Xbox 360
        • An Internet connection is only required when initially setting up the console
        • All downloaded games will function the same when online or offline
        • No additional restrictions on trading games or loaning discs
        • Region locks have been dropped

Go ahead and pre order your XBOX ONE now guys.

Now hopefully all the pissing & moaning will be a thing of the past lol.
Calm down with the "pissing and moaning" rhetoric. Last warning.

.....because if he doesn't want something, he doesn't want it. Who cares if it's infinitely better, if it doesn't interest him, he shouldn't have to have it.

The technology is infinitely better, that doesn't mean the product is. A polished turd is infinitely better than a pile of crap, but it's still a turd.

I see nothing that makes me want it. The Kinect is a gimmick and nothing more. I have no interest in motion controls, sound sensing (a la Dead Rising 3), heartbeat monitors and whatever else they are pushing. The only thing that does for me is detract from games.

              Re: Xbox One

The majority of games ARE digital right now.

There's nothing stopping you from purchasing digitally on release dates.
Console wise it is not the majority's favourable choice though, which is what caused this whole controversy.

I have my own gaming PC, I buy pretty much everything off Steam digitally. Consoles are not as established in this area in comparison to Steam but thats what Microsoft's vision and future was, and what will most likely be as well in time, regardless of ditching the idea now. The article that Kevin posted above sums up my outlook on the whole thing really..

So the input switching from tv to games via your voice doesn't interest you? Or telling the console to turn on via your voice? Skype? Just about gaming huh? Hey to each their own, i just don't get not wanting additional tech.

I'm not too thrilled about the Kinect either, but all the potential applications with it being considerably more powerful, I'm looking forward to it's implementation. Being that it comes with the console, game companies are gonna find amazing new uses for it with the next gen titles undoubtedly.

TV to games? Nope, I wouldn't use the HDMI passthrough. It's redundant. Voice commands have always been a joke to me. I'm not lazy to the point where getting up to turn on my console is a struggle. I can Skype on my laptop if I want to, but I have absolutely no use for Skype.

Video game consoles, to me, are purely about the games I play.

Don't get me wrong, I love technology and love the Kinect for what it is. I just have absolutely zero use for it and it's more of a hinderance than anything to me. From the day MS has had their reveal, I have said the only thing holding me back from the XBone is the Kinect being mandatory.
