Wizard of Oz is available for preorder for the Ultimate Edition on Bluray. I want this movie but I don't need all the extras - hopefully there's a cheaper edition.

Quantum of Solace is coming out on Blu tomorrow. I'm getting my hands on it first thing in the morning.

I don't know if I spoke much of the movie here, but my overall reactions are I like the movie, but it just doesn't fit the bill as a good "Bond" movie much like Casino Royale did. I knew that once I heard Forster was directing that I had to give it low hopes from the beginning, and I just recently found out that Martin Campbell actually declined to sign on in directing the sequel after doing CR, which is a shame of all things.

Oh well, hopefully I'll love it more with my home theater.

I might give QoS another chance if the price is right, but I think I almost fell asleep on multiple occassions when I saw this in the movie theater.

Anyone else getting American History X on blu ray? I went ahead and pre-ordered it on Amazon for $15.

Already sold my DVD copy in preparation. Is it still April 7th!

I forgot to add that the Fast & Furious Trilogy will be out tomorrow as well. I was going to dismiss it outright at first (actually, consider looking at Black Friday deals or a four-pack with the fourth installment), but Walmart has it at $59.86, still less than $20 a movie. Sometimes I simply can't say no.

The Matrix 10th Anniversary Blu-ray was pushed back to release next week, 3/31.

And as for QoS... I don't know man, I just can't see me not owning this one. No, it's not something I'm going to pop into my PS3 for myself every month like I will with CR, but it will definitely get multiple showings for my friends that haven't seen it, as well as those that did like it and want a second viewing. You see, I get my viewings with 1 - 4 people at a time, so I get many-a-chances to make the purchase worth what I spend regardless because of the number of times I get to watch it.

Many reviews are glamouring it as a true home theater experience. We'll find out for sure tomorrow (for me it will be more like Wednesday or Thursday, as I just have no time to get a viewing in tomorrow).

Blzer, QOS is a beaut on Blu-ray. Here is my thoughts/review. Video and Audio quality is top notch.

Picked up my blu ray cope of QoS today and hopefully will watch it tomorrow.

I don't know if it was just me, but I remember seeing in this Sunday's ads for Best Buy that the blu ray will have a digital copy, but when I went to the store I didn't see anything for it and my copy doesn't have it.

Well I ended up actually seeing it today because my last class was canceled. Sound was epic! The movie's second half ended up being much better than I remembered, but I just think that there could have been much more fluff between scene changes (like dialogue-wise). It would have felt a little better with the pacing, despite the already craptacular action directing.

                  I was pleased nonetheless.

Slumdog Millionaire was just reviewed on blu-ray.com

Slumdog Millionaire Blu-ray Release Date March 31, 2009. Blu-ray reviews, news, specs, ratings, screenshots. Cheap Blu-ray movies and deals.

I really like blu-ray.com over hidefdigest. They give screen caps for the movies to give you an idea of how the movie is gonna look and they tend to give pretty good reviews.

High-Def Digest is good at times, but other times they are very lazy with copying and pasting things from old reviews onto new ones, plagiarizing, and at times just trying to be the first one to get the review out that they miss many things... sometimes I even believe that they put the review up before they even watch the movie, that they only base things off previous impressions from other people.

Also, they edit their reviews without people knowing. It's a disaster at times, and they should be ashamed.

Damn, I didn't know that. What aggravates me about hidefdigest is they tend to review some titles well after it's been released on bluray. I remember waiting for them to post their review of Pineapple Express before it was released so I can make an informed purchase but they posted the review some 2 weeks after. That's not gonna cut it.

At least blu-ray.com posts their reviews in a timely manner.

Many review sites do that. So many sites review things and I swear half of them don't even watch the movie they are reviewing. I just read up on the forums for the movies and go from there.

OK...these combo packs are getting ridiculous.

I went to Best Buy and picked up the two new Disney Blu-rays, Pinocchio and Bolt. First, Pinocchio is in a double wide case, which already ticks me off. Second, both of them come with the Blu-ray (Pinocchio had two Blu-ray discs) and a DVD copy, with Bolt adding a Digital Copy disc.

This bugs the hell out of me! If I wanted a DVD copy of the disc, I'd buy the DVD. I'll never watch it on regular DVD and so it just sits in my case wasting space. Plus, to fit these discs in they have to use those plastic dividers in the case so the discs can be dislodged and possibly damaged (something that has happened during our recent moves). Not to mention how worthless the digital copy is.

                              Gah!

The Matrix. On Blu-Ray. Today. i've been waiting for this because i'm not keen on buying the whole trilogy (I didn't particularly like the final installment. Reloaded i actually liked, but not enough for that whole monster package). But the First film by itself on Blu-Ray i'm all over. $24 and change at Amazon.
