Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
The singers that the Roots got for that album are horrible, I don't know what they were thinking with the choices that were made.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
There's another version, but I think this one is the original beat. I think the other one is remixed with a different beat since the vocals don't sound right.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
Uhh, shallow n-gga but deep enough to have gone swimming
I think I'm spending all my time with the wrong women
I think I have a chance at love but knowing me I miss it
cause me dedicating my time just isn't realistic
man the good girls went silent on me
they got a boyfriend or left for college on me
and all the bad ones I used to hit her friends now
that make me wish I had a little less mileage on me
but do I ever come up in discussion over double pump latte's
and low fat muffin's, do I?
Or is missing what we had outta the question
I'm probably just the reason that you learned your lesson
I got flows for the Marilyn Monroe's who's there before it all
I guess thats how it goes
they hear about your cons or focus on your pro's
and love you for who you are from the bottom of their soul
but those same ones from your area will grow
into women that are ready to get married at hello
because of what they allow
where are they all now
I know there somewhere watching so I'm trying to make them proud
searching for the meaning
you'll find it next to me
and tell me that I'm the finest I guess we finally get to see
I'm feeling like Nas who am I to disagree
they say that doors open up as soon as you find the missing key
it's probably why I'm in this b-tch shining
jump up in the sky and put the stars into alignment
I rep the ATF in case you need to be reminded
and the bandwagons full you can try and run behind it
I'm sorry poolside drinking
margarita rounds
shout out to my city though I hardly be in town
I'm the black sheep if Chris Farley where's the crown
and I know life is just a game in which the cards are facing down
I'm in the World where things are taken, never given
how long they choose to love you will never be your decision
and I'm aware this could be the last time you listen
so while I'm still in this position...
You YOU...can thank me now!Cameras or guns, one of them is gonna shoot me to death.Comment

I hope the studio version of this new Cudi song comes out soon. I got the hook stuck in my head right now.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
Just got back from the Janelle Monae/Lupe Fiasco/Erykah Badu show at the Greek Theater. Erykah was alright but I'm not too big on her. I was mainly there for Janelle and Lupe(who I saw for the 8th time).
I got to my seats in the middle of Janelle's second song and I was pretty far back which was pretty disappointing. I didn't get to fully enjoy her performance from a distance, so after she got off stage, I went back to the box office with the help of a very nice usher to upgrade my tickets to the pit area.
Luckily for me, 90% of the people were there for Erykah so there were only a couple dozen people in the pit during Lupe's set and I was the only one down there who knew all his songs. During Hi Definition, he noticed me going word for word with him and for the last part of the second verse, he directed all his attention to me and as the verse ended, he held out his hand, I slapped it and he goes right back into the song.
As a hip hop fan, I can't think of a better feeling than your favorite artist recognizing your appreciation for his/her music and acknowledges it by singling you out from everybody else to rap/sing along with them. Then high fiving you! ^_^
Needless to say, I am incredibly ecstatic I decided to do something about my mediocre seats.
After the show, we went to go eat Chinese food and the fortune in my fortune cookie read "The respect of influential people will soon be yours." I'm going to frame my wristband and that fortune.
Great night, overall. My only regret is that I didn't upgrade my tickets before Janelle Monae's set. I would have loved to be right there for it. There's always next time.Last edited by darlon; 06-21-2010, 05:08 AM.Comment
