I thought this was interesting: Ranking Rappers by the size of their Vocabulary

The number of unique lyrics used within artists’ first 35,000 lyrics

    Wu-Tang Clan dominating once again.

      Listening to the Lockdown Remix:
JID: “Diabolical thoughts, diatribe from dialogues, damaging images of men and women who died off fighting for civil rights, a simple necessity given when you’re given life, but we been trippin’? Right...” [emoji1474]
Noname: “We seen them murder the indigenous, the passage middle, a constitutional life for a bag of Skittles, so when we bleed I load the sacred pistol, and if you need I’ll read Assata with you, and if you rich I pray that God forgive you, supposed to share the garden, grow the holy in you” [emoji1474][emoji1474]
Jay Rock: “Know the difference from a pan and plandemic, Just a bunch of bull**** how we laying in it, you either fall for anything or you stand in it, it’s a lot going on on this damn mission, big BG used to sell microchips, now he out here pushing vaccines?” [emoji1475][emoji1475][emoji1475]🤦🏾*♂️

Method Man sounds ****ing great on the new Conway. Timeless flow, hasn’t missed a beat in 20+ years.

Slug and Murs dropped a surprise album (Felt 4 U) last night. Reminded me of a question I often have after listening to a Slug project. Why don’t more artists turn to Ant for product?

Always thought the same thing about Ant. I know he worked with Brother Ali, too, but other than Atmosphere and Felt that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Yeah, 99% of his production credits are with Rhymesayers Entertainment acts I believe. He has such a diverse style I find it strange, unless that is by choice of course. Which very well could be the case for all I know.

Good looking out on that Felt album - that thing is smooth as butter. I think I like it better than I initially did with Felt 3. Had it going this weekend feeling like I'm back at community school digging up Atmosphere and Murs on here.

Really liking this Aminé album, really love the intro, the ODB homage on Shimmy, and Easy, something about Summer Walker’s sound, she always sounds like she belongs on the songs she’s on. The album from this year it makes me think of is Better by Deante Hitchcock, both kinda chill introspective albums from mid-20s dudes on opposite sides of the country.

Noname's verse on the Lockdown remix might be my favorite from her. The first 2/3 of the remix is straight fire a little stumbling at the end, but still a strong song.

Here's Atmosphere and Murs talking about the new Felt album:

The new Nas album is fire. His best project in sometime & a great album to wash the taste of the NASIR debacle from your mouth.

The whole project is dope, but the standouts are Car #85, Til The War Is Won, The Cure & Full Circle (minus Foxxy Brown's weak verse).

4 songs in and I don’t like these beats for him at all, I’ll have to listen to the rest later. New Pharrell song is trash too.
Listening to this Kaash Paige album, Jaded was already one of my favorite songs of the year but I’m gonna need this chopped and screwed for sure, the vibe is perfect.

Meh, to each his own. This is the lane he was on when he recorded Life Is Good, so I love that he's returned to that vibe. "Grown man" rap or whatever folk want to label it.

Beats could be a little more impactful or with little more variety, yet that could lead to more NASIR sounding records.

                          Bleh, no thanks.

And he drops gems without talking any Anti - Vaxxer nonsense (NASIR) or about aliens (Untitled).

The features on Life is Good are all age appropriate/match that vibe, I can’t say a guy is on his grown man stuff and you’ve got Don Toliver, Big Sean, and Fivio as features, and I actually like 2/3 of them. Full Circle is good though.
I guess it’s hard to compare an album to a 3 piece, but do you think this is better than Joey’s Light Pack?

I understand his trying to connect with younger artists especially if they can mesh with the vibe or sound of the project. I mean more so his lyrical content & vibe of the project not who the features are. The beats aren't drowning out or overtaking the songs like NASIR, IMO.

I gotta listen to BadA$$' EP, but I'm disappointed he signed to a major label (Boooo!). I still love and support his movement, though.

                              I'll give it a listen......

Also, Joey is only 25 while Nas is nearly 50 (45 or 46), so their lyrics & content won't be the same. I **** with both, but Joey is still in his prime. Nas' prime was 15 - 20 years ago.

The being out of his prime thing definitely hits for me. Black Republican came on shuffle and I was like yeah I’ll just listen to this instead lol. I don’t know if I have any need for current Nas.
This new Vic Mensa is a pleasant surprise.
