Those original 3 brought more of the mad cap, comedic element somewhat emulating the movie.... you couldn't get that with the replacements.

I'll agree with 2 out of the three, but personally, I thought Winchester was better than Frank.

I also feel that Alan Alda directing/producing later in the show and making the show more drama had something to do with the three replacements having less mad cap, comedic elements.

Frank did have his moments. The bit where they put a toe tag on him is still classic. I can still remember that stupid laugh he makes...

But yeah, there are a bunch of good Winchester episodes. At least they did away with the "Flag" character.

The Directors Cut makes it 0.42% less strange

It does explain more. I like both versions but was really glad my first viewing was the Theatrical edition because it is such a trip.

Hunger Games: Catching Fire - So much better than the first movie. Though, that may be because I didn't just read the book a week before so there was no comparison in my head. I don't think I'll read the third book untiul after watching both parts of Mockingjay.

I've watched Catching Fire probably 4 times since it was released on Amazon.

Saw Robocop today, enjoyed it quite a bit, hope they make more.

Am I the only one who preferred the first Hunger Games film over Catching Fire?

Now granted, I left my impressions which explain it and a big part of it is that Catching Fire feels like an incomplete film (for obvious reasons), but I am pretty surprised at the seemingly unanimous preference of the sequel.

I actually felt compelled to watch MASH on Netflicks last night.... was a good re-visit. Quite the political statement along with some other social statements and trend setting symbolism of the time (when shot, not of the Korean War era).

Check out one of the earlier ones where Col. Blake has to solve a rash of petty thefts in the camp. Alda goes into a laughing fit for the ages in one scene.

ANY of the early episodes are great, and most of the pre-mustache on B.J. episodes.

It was also a curious move to give Frank the personality they did in the TV show versus how he was depicted in the movies (which I'm actually glad they did seeing as how Hollywood has loved to portray spiritual-laden people typically as extreme and/or fanatics). I don't think the TV show would have endured with the "movie Frank" and had to make him the "simpleton Frank" who was more easily teased.

It set up the whole comedy bit for the early show. The whole Frank + Hot Lips bits were played up as well. I really like the character arc Margaret goes on throughout the show.
