Hey Scott - quick question. I saw LG's announcement of the x1 line of OLEDs. Do you know when they typically come out? I was planning on getting the GX, but may wait for the G1. I couldn't find when they typically are available.

    Thanks!

Sold my 48" CX it wasn't working out for me as a monitor and was using it as my Living room TV. I upgraded to the CX 55" which is now in my living room and I'm very happy now, was going to go 65" but that is to big for my space I have.

Trying to decide between the 77" LG OLED and the 65". The difference is $1300.

                Is it worth it?

If you have the space and money, go all out. If not 65" would be great as well.

I had the same debate and went with the 65 inch for me the main reason was bc in a few years If I want to upgrade TVs again the 77 won’t work in my bedroom. Also my space isn't super big and the 65 was still a upgrade in side from my previous tv. If you plan on keeping it for a while and have the space you won’t be disappointed with the bigger one. Even if $ isn’t a issue 1,300 is enough to upgrade your surround sound system are something. I also thought the 65 took some of the pressure off of being the perfect tv for like 6 years.

A lot changes in a few hours.

I have committed to a 75" tv but the TCL 6 series mini LED has entered the chat. Their 75" model is 1400, that makes it almost 2000 cheaper than the OLED.

At this size, I am hoping for this tv to last me at least through this generation of consoles. Living in a walk-up in Brooklyn makes it difficult to move large pieces of furniture.

When's that next pandemic check coming?

It’s also way different in picture quality.

I took a look at some YT videos for comparison and I already know that my space is perfect to mitigate some of OLEDs weaknesses. But that TCL had excellent contrast and was hard to tell which one was OLED at times.

If one was not doing a side by side, they would be very happy with that TCL. 1400 dollars vs 3300 for the 77" is a massive difference.

Wondering about the chances of the CX going on sale soon.

Don't judge PQ between 2 TV's on a video you saw on YT. If you feel like the TCL will be better for you, go for it. If you wanna go by reviews, Rtings names the 77 CX as the best TV overall, while that TCL cracks the honorable mention list.

Agreed. My phone won't do these screens justice. Rtings has been my go-to resource on this so I also know the TCL 6 got their Best Value award. You're right that it comes down to a personal choice now and whether the CX is worth $2k more than the TCL to me.

What's your TV? Are you on an OLED? Any panel uniformity issues or black crushing?
