Yeah, have had it for 8 months now and no, not looking for another set as I'm pretty happy with what I have. What I meant by my post is that the next set I get will be in the 59" range. For movie viewing that would be ideal for me.

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
It all depends on the setup of your room, amongst other things. What are the dimensions of your room? Is it a 5.1 or a 7.1 system?Hey 55, how do you have your surround sound system set up? My set up is not exactly conventional, but I always like hearing what others have to offer. I am debating on where to put my sub-woofer. I had it behind the seating, but that didn't work out for everyone, so now I am looking to move it to the front of the viewing.
Thanks. I have lurked in this thread FOREVER!
An extra 9" of screen makes a HUGE difference, trust me!I only have gone into the SM for my Panny to look at the amount of hours on the set. Other than that I try not to fiddle with anything in there. My next set I'd like to get somewhere in the 59-64" range, even though I think that the 59" would be ideal. I want a larger screen for movies, can care less to play games on such a large screen. I'm on a 50" right now, but the thought of another 9" of screen size would make 2:35 AR movies even better for viewing.
That is where I have mine (halfway between the left front speaker and the wall) because that is the optimal way for me to do it with the way my room is shaped, etc. etc.Comment

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
It's ironic, but I went from a 46" to a 63" and I would love to go bigger. When we moved into the new house, the 46" was way too small (old house we sat about 8ft away from that...new house the room is much bigger...totals 26ft long and we sit about 16ft from the TV). Initially I thought 63" was huge, but after a year with the TV, I find myself thinking I could go even larger.
With that said, it's not happening. I love the TV I have. That and I just finished paying a contractor to put a 400sq ft Azek deck on the back of my house and am now talking to other contractors to put a stone patio underneath. I done spending for a bit.Comment

Yep. I have mine right underneath the left front speaker. I've always heard/read that it should go by either the left or right front speaker.Comment

Sharp did come out with a 70" this past year, but its an LCD. Imagine a 70" plasma in action. It's ironic, but I went from a 46" to a 63" and I would love to go bigger. I was kind of restricted with this 50" initially because we were upstairs when I bought it. Then just a few months ago we moved our living room back downstairs where I have enough room for a nice 60". I have several other priorities to take care of or else that 60" would be on the mind. LOL!Comment

You're climbing into the sizes that makes projectors attractive alternatives. It's ironic, but I went from a 46" to a 63" and I would love to go bigger. Re: Plasma or LCD?
GUYS!!!
Who can recommend a GREAT wall mount for a 46 inch, 45 pound LCD? I watched this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfwRJpzlzw4 and it's basically what I'm looking for. Sturdy, no sag, extends out and swivels easily. I'm confused seeing prices on amazon that seem low and figure they must not include everything you need. Doesn't have to be a corner mount either
Thanks!
edit: Looks like either of these would be pretty good optoins http://www.amazon.com/Unibrak-UNB-55...783774&sr=1-12

Why don't you get an HD projector? My bestfriend has his on a 104 inch white screen, and It looks great. It's ironic, but I went from a 46" to a 63" and I would love to go bigger. Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
Not for the family room...I'd put a projector in a movie room or basement, but not the main family room.
Plus the wall that would be projected on has two windows on each side of where my TV currently is. Here's a picture I took last year:

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
hey guys- im looking to get a 65' led tv i saw at best buy. it comes with the wireless connection kit for free.
I was gonna mount it above our wood stove. What are your thoughts on that? I have a mantel with about 8 inch depth. Ive felt the wall in the past, and it doesnt seem to get too hot. Most of the heat comes from the front and sides of the woodstove as it gets up to 1400 degrees sometimes.
The wood stove comes about 2 feet out from the wall.Comment

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
I wouldn't put it no where near a wood stove. Wood stoves have to be cleaned on a regular basis and that silt dust travels a good ways. Definitely don't want that on your tv.Comment
