Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
I have the 27" IPS, i'll send you some pics.
Colors = amazing
Speed = not the greatest 5ms, so i can get some very slight ghosting on really fast scenes. I kinda wish i still had a 2ms monitor but color accuracy was important to me.
Contrast/brightness = i run a picture calibration tool every couple months to keep everything locked in. While the picture is incredible, black levels wont get to those inky black plasma levels and white levels little to bright and giving some detail loss.
All in all im super happy with it, the color accuracy when playing madden is awesome. My only big pet peeve is the seek time. If i could do it over, id go 1ms 2ms BenQ TN panel

That sniper pic is nice!
Ghosting is something i definitely want to avoid. I guess looking at that LG model is really what i wanted since you can make a 4, 3, or a 2 way split screen eliminating the need to have multiple monitors hooked up.Comment

With LG monitors, make sure it doesn't have the "backlight dimming" feature. Any sort of black screen(movies, games, etc.) will cause the monitor to basically turn the screen off while still being on.Comment

Im not sure these do. Ill have to post the link to one for you. I got to see it demo in best buy one day. I'm one that uses multiple tabs and using internet, word, tv etc sometimes at once would come in real handy.
Right now i dont like the current 24 inch monitor for gaming so I want to upgrade for those 2 reasons.Comment

I've joined the green side and picked up a Nvidia 980. I've had ATI/AMD cards mostly the last 10 years or so.Comment

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
In the wee hours of the morning I decided to test how far I could overclock my 5820K on air. Made it to 4.5ghz. Lowered it back down to 4.1 ghz though. Pretty impressed with the EVO 212 tower cooler. I could put a second fan on the EVO but opted not too.
In other news, 980 TI suppose to come out near the end of May. Suppose to be 6GB of VRAM and be GM200 chip based, the same as the Titan X. Cost is rumored to be around $700.
Last week, an interesting rumor popped out of nowhere that NVIDIA might be preparing the GeForce GTX 980 Ti graphics card.
And finally everybody is pretty certain AMD will release their 390 and 390x at Computex in the first part of June.Comment

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
Hey guys looking for some opinions on a possible build for my first gaming pc. I do not have a huge budget and I was wondering if this would be a decent build. Thanks

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
What exactly is your budget and what are you looking to get out of it? Meaning, what resolution will you be playing at, what's your target for settings and FPS?
To answer your general question though, it's decent, but that's depending on the resolution and settings you plan on playing at. You're not going to be reaching/maintaining 60FPS in a lot of the more graphics intensive games on High settings at 1080p though.PS: You guys are great.

My budget is around $600. I will mostly be playing games like H1Z1, CS:GO, and Civilization. I just want to be able to play the games on medium to high with decent frames.Comment
