Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
Yep when I upgraded to a 7850 graphics card and 6300 processor the original PSU that came with the PC wasn't powerful enough to start the machine, so I went to Fry's and get what I have now which is 650 because I think I was able to get it for less than 100 bucks, somewhere around 80.
I just thought about it because even though I just got the 280X and it works, I was looking at the 8150 processors and saw it needed at leasat a 700W PSU. I'm thinking im about at the point it's time to step it up.Comment

Yeah no super amount of extras. I just got enough to power the system i have.no idea if a more powerful psu matters in giving a stock ca4d or processor a push when dealing with games with higher graphic fidelityComment

I run an i5-3570k (stock) and 7870 2GB. I'm pretty sure I'm well into the overkill range even if I wanted to CrossFire another 7870.

I run an OC'd 4670k, an OC'd 7950, 2 SSD, 3 Internal HDD and 2 external along with various USB devices with 700W. If I ever use more than 500W it'd probably be just barely over.PS: You guys are great.

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
This is my starting point. Not sold on the case or the mini motherboard, because of my desk setup I'll almost certainly go another direction there.
