You really don't need a 750w PSU (power supply unit) either. That is overkill. This is the Amazon.com PCPartPicker of the day PC - https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/LyWG3...cked-gaming-pc
    Only a 650w PSU.

Newegg has this 650w that is Gold certified so it will be more efficient for about the same price after rebate. You will save a few bucks a month on your electric bill - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817438048

I didn't put it into PCPartPicker to see if it was cheaper elsewhere.

Not building a new PC, but my desktop (Win 7 now running Win 10) can have fans that get really loud when they're going....

Could I get inexpensive yet quiet new fans and install those? I know i'd have to pop open my box to see sizes and stuff, but wasn't sure if newer fans would be pretty quiet or not....just be nice to silence this, they're not always going super loud, but when they kick in it's noticeable.

Could just be dust build up on your old fans. But yeah fans are cheap, just got to know what size fits your case.

Definitely. See if there is hair and junk clocking up your old fans first. You can search on Newegg by decibel level. All depends how quiet you want to get so extremely quiet might cost a few bucks more.

Depends on what you mean by cheap.

Noctuas aren't cheap (expensive as far as fans go,but relatively inexpensive in the big picture) and those things both move air and stay pretty quiet.

The downside (for a lot of people) is they are ugly as sin and don't match a lot of people's builds.

So... anyone biting on a 34" ultrawide anytime soon? Have my sights set on a 1440p G-Sync Acer out next month.

The X34? Out of my price range and settled for a LG ultrawide 25....I overclocked it to 75hz and you know what I like it. I have it set up that the ultrawide will be steam big picture. That way I don't have switch main monitors.

Bigger ultrawide monitor is definitely something I will look to in the future. For now I'm pretty much set for a couple of years.

Yeah. I have the cash, but tempted to just spend half on a compromise for now and put the rest towards the new house fund. Pfft, priorities (wife just bought a macbook lol).

Part of me is afraid of being disappointed in the X34 not running a SLI setup or something.

What? Overclock? It's actually pretty straightforward when I looked into it...

If you have an NVIDIA card it makes things a lot easier.

Do you mean setting up Steam Big Picture for one monitor? If that's what you're asking just open up big picture mode then go to settings then click display and it gives you an option where Big Picture opens up.

                          I'm loving it

Not overclocking your card or whatnot, I meant I thought you found a solution to the 7ms response time on the Ultra Wide monitor

That's the main thing putting me off of them

Ah ok...no solution I just wanted a cheap ultrawide and got this 25' for under 200. Which is fine...I just wanted something for Netflix or YouTube.

Only tried witcher and Batman. Tried 2k...didn't support 21:9...

Yeah I already have a 24 inch monitor so paying for one an inch bigger is worthless to me, maybe ill just skip it altogether.

Originally I wanted it for the split screen feature til I realized I could already DL software now and do that lol.
