Can or can't update? What resolution monitor will you be getting? At 1080P the 970 should be fine for now, but if you go 1440 the 390 would likely be slightly better as it is 8GB instead of the 3.5 in the 970.

I don't think I am missing anything here minus some things you might want/need like a keyboard/mouse.

Right click on your desktop and go to the Catalyst Control Center. I don't have my PC on, but it could be there.

Or go back and look at your order history.

I also have the 7870. The "minimum" specs has the 7870 listed. Bethesda has a history of poorly optimized PC games, but I am not worried about it. The thing ran Skyrim mods and GTA V on highest settings just fine.

Could always overclock it a bit.

Looks good. 16 GB of RAM isn't really necessary, but since it's even cheaper these days it's not a huge price jump from 8.

Sorry. Autocorrect is used to me saying "can't" I guess

Yeah, that's for future proofing more than anything. Will also help if you're someone that likes 92439 internet tabs open at the same time.

I thought I read somewhere that Bethesda worked with Nvidia for Fallout 4. With Bethesda's history + that being an AMD minimum spec, it would make me a bit nervous.

You guys have any router suggestions? I have a Netgear NR2000, got it for around 70-80 and because the router I had previously went out so it was a quick Wal-mart get. My internet connection is 30 up and download....I use for gaming and video streaming PC and Xbox One. Of course have my phone on Wifi and on Sundays when family comes over can have up to 6 phones on my Wifi.

I've changed my opinion on that. I used to say the same thing, but since I started using iRacing, my computer has routinely used 5.5-6.5 GB of physical memory while playing. I gave in and upgraded to 16 yesterday for $80. I thought about holding out until black Friday but it was already on sale and I doubt Newegg would cut it down much more.

I think I want to make the jump to 16GB of RAM. I also want to ditch this 7870 2GB I've got. Maybe black friday will have something worthwhile?

Funny the router thing came up, my Dlink Dir-655 just crapped out and I'm purchasing a new router. This is what I'm going with.

The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router AC 1900 (WRT1900AC) delivers excellent throughput with current-gen wireless clients, and promises killer speeds for future devices. In the meantime, upcoming OpenWRT flashable firmware, wonderful QoS, easy setup, and powerful NAS functionality, for a hefty price

I loved a Dlink I had years ago and when it died on me I gave up on it. Never had a router die so fast. Might have been the same model.

I use a Netgear WNDR4300. Had it for a year or so with no problems so far. Just slow on restart sometimes, the rare times I need to restart it.

I got my Linksys WRT 1900ACS in and wow what a nice piece of hardware. What I find the most impressive is the excellent software UI interface for the settings. So easy to work with and it just flies right out the box.
