Would you guys recommend more fans blowing air IN the case or OUT? My computer runs almost 24 hours a day and I've been contemplating on adding more fans to the case.

24 hours a day doing what ? Being on all day means nothing if it isn't being pushed to it's limit. If you got a good CPU cooler, that really is all that matters.Comment

It's basically my gaming rig/media server. I only switch it off if I know I'll be out for over 12 hours.Comment

Have more air being sucked out than is being blown in.Comment

What kind of monitor would you suggest for gaming.
I don't want to get crazy with a GSYNC just yet.
27 inch tv or monitor would be better.Comment

A 144hz monitor doesn't automatically make your computer better, there is a higher performance target.
What he means is don't buy a nice monitor for an underpowered machine that won't let you enjoy it.
This line of thinking is how I justified a 980ti... wanting an ultrawide/21:9 monitor and/or being interested in becoming a VR early adopter next year. Compromised on the monitor and am 'only' using a 2560x1080 ultrawide (2nd monitor is also 1440p) but I'll get an X34 or something eventually. Stupid priorities, in the market to buy a houseComment

Not as well as you'd want to get the best use out of it. You'd want a Fury/X or 980TI if you want to run 1440p 144hz. Also I'd recommend the Acer Predator XB270HU. I have it with my 980TI and love it.My latest project - Madden 12 http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2043231648Comment

I'm happy as its though with the current gaming. Was going to go ultrawide but decided against at the moment i had the money because i wanted the bigger looking screen which has been wellComment

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
Yeah the easiest way of describing it would be that you need to hit a constant 144 (plus) framerate for the monitor to be of any use for its intended reasoning.
It may still perform better in games, many times because those monitors are just built better, but outputting 144+ fps at 1440p is no joke for some of these games unless you want to turn the graphics down.badComment

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
It's been forever and a day since I built a PC. The Alienware PC that was gifted to me six years ago can still handle most games I throw at it (I did a memory upgrade to 8GB and put in a new gfx card when a power surge destroyed my old card).
A buddy and I are in the process of launching a YouTube channel (time to put some skills I learned in college to use). Quickly realized though my rig isn't beefy enough for video editing. It can do it...just not quick enough for my liking.
So I need some help putting an editing rig together. Budget is around $2k and I don't need a monitor.Comment
