Just blows when you get a bad part (it happens)...my cousin got a bad motherboard when we were working together and a pain to ship it back.

You saw this yesterday with Intel dropping the prices of their I7s because Ryzen out performed them at a cheaper cost. That caused Intel to drop their price by $40 on their I7s.

I fully expect the 1080ti to cost about $700 to $800 considering the 1080 cost $580 to $700 depending on the model.
The 1080 did drop down to $500 while the TI is going to start at $700. Not sure if there's going to be a price drop on the 1070 though.

AMD Vega must be a legit threat then if Nvidia dropped the price. Win win for consumers.

Without a monitor, and as stated above with CPU prices falling, you'll be able to put together a beast with a grand to play with.

Good luck, Flight. I hear you on the convenience factor but you should at least look into doing it yourself. Outside of working in a confined space, it's really not too difficult. Maybe even look to pay someone to put it together, but you order all the parts. Plenty of people here to help or point you in the right direction.

It seems way more daunting than it actually is. But at the end of the day you're going to be happy with you choice to join the master race.

You guys along with a few of my co-workers have me really thinking about doing it myself. The fact that I could stretch my $$ even more. Gonna head over to Microcenter this evening to get several different quotes on building one myself.

            Thanks everyone for the tips.

I can't believe the TI is practically the same at the Titan XP. Why would Nvidia even sell a Titan now, no point.

I wonder if The Titan Xp and 1080 Ti are SLI compatible

I believe from here on out, the new Titans will no longer be above $1,000 and probably have double the RAM. That way they can have a gap between the base model and Titan where the TI can comfortably fall in.

Last year they messed up. 1080 was already 8GB, Titan was 12. Sure they could have made the TI 10 but they made it 11. Next go around I am expecting the 1180 to be 15, Titan 30 and TI 25.

Nvidia and Intel been the king of the hill for decades now and was completely caught off guard by AMD finally getting their stuff together. The days of Intel and Nvidia charging outrageous prices are over.

But yeah, the Titan is useless now.

I know it's in the lower end of the spectrum, but I am picking up my 1060 today. Couldn't be more excited. It should be a huge improvement over my ~5 year old 660ti.

I really want to upgrade, but with an i5-4690k and a 980 Ti know I should sit on the sidelines a bit longer. Getting anxious to rebuild though.

A lot of excitement lately. Ryzen 5 came out today and reviews are pretty positive.

I've been way out of the loop. Had no idea was a M.2 drive was earlier this week. Spent the day getting caught back up on the latest technology. Have a buddy who is currently doing a gaming build and wildly misusing his budget. Trying to convince him that the extra money he is trying to spend on an i7-7700K is not worth it over the i5-7600K. Not when he could put that $110 towards the GPU in which has has selected a 1060. Telling him he needs to re-arrange his budget and go for a 1070.

Patience, now is not the time. Give yourself another 1.5 years I'd say.

I get the ich to upgrade too. But with an i7-4770k and Asus 980 matrix, still can run every game I play at highest settings at 3440x1440. I love building out computers though.

Potentially toying around with the idea of building my own PC instead of buying an Xbox Scorpio, any recommendations?
