Re: ESPN Cleaning House
Dude the whole point is disagreeing with what she said.
The forum is about ESPN.
She wanted to count ties as ties in the standings and not replay them.
And that is what I said from the very beginning. Your "point" had nothing to do with ESPN or Mendoza or what we were talking about."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Re: ESPN Cleaning House
I liked Mendoza alright till she said a couple nights ago she believes in ties in baseball. That's enough for me.
I used to love ESPN growing up, couldn't imagine not waking up and watching sportscenter in the morning. But now... ESPN can go to hell. Despise the way ESPN is now, it's pure garbage, wish it would go under.

I think the same people who took over MTV 20 years ago are the same ones running espn now. If I had been one of those people who named my son ESPN back in the day, I'd be asking him if he wanted a new name now.
even worse, THIS is the ''good ol' days'' for some peopleLast edited by Caulfield; 05-10-2017, 01:52 PM.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: ESPN Cleaning House
Actually, I think it all goes back to Howard Cosell. He was the first REALLY brash TV personality out there to the point that he was getting death threats from people because he was so annoying. His style is the granddaddy to some of the loud crazy talk you hear today from radio guys and the debate shows.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I don't understand how Jemele Hill is employed. Could care less about the 6. Michael Smith is decent. But all the dumb ignorant **** she has said? "Why I despise ESPN is in a nutshell".

Re: ESPN Cleaning House
Loud and opinionated has always been popular on the radio, it just so happens that a bunch of guys with radio shows got put in front of television cameras.
Also, I don't mind Mendoza but I couldn't possibly have the strength of feeling some people have toward her if she attacked one of my pets. Everything said about her is so dramatic, it's ridiculous. Don't need to hear her talking nonstop during the game? She doesn't do anything close to that now lol, the hyperbole is too much.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: ESPN Cleaning House
Count me among those who are giving Jessica Mendoza a fair shot. Yes, she's not an ex-baseball player, but she also seems to do her homework and isn't annoying. Hell, compare her with the other ESPN "talent" out there and I don't really see who would be any better. It could always be worse--we could have the TBS crew from last year's playoffs! *shudders*Comment

Re: ESPN Cleaning House
It is totally ridiculous. Folks don't think their point is strong enough without embellishing it substantially....The constant circumvention of the language filter by some and the "everything sucks and I hate everything" mentality is so trite and boring to read. It would be nice to see a cogent, rational argument for a change instead of the equivalent of "me dislike the things that me dislike."Last edited by BunnyHardaway; 05-10-2017, 06:44 PM.Comment

Compared Calipari to Charles Manson
Likened the Celtics to rooting for Hitler.
And encouraged throwing batteries at Brett Favre.
She's been suspended before, probably numerous times. She is the typical reactionary, controversial type ESPN loves to employ.

I've read this post 5 or 6 times and can't figure out what point you're trying to make. ?? Do you mean stupid and irrelevant are subjective? That would at least make this post sensical.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment
