I don't. However, I remember reading that PS3 games will be priced to compete with the 360's price which is $60. But do you honestly think PS3 games are gonna be 70-75 bucks just because they'll be on blu)ray discs?

March 14, 2006 - Sony today announced that not only is the PlayStation 3 to be 100% backwards compatible, but all legacy titles played on the system will be displayed at high-definition resolutions. The Xbox 360 currently does the same thing and the result on that end is much sharper image quality for older games. Other key features of the system that the electronics giant has pointed out so far are full Blu-ray support, the latest HDMI connection, broadband and wireless connectivity and HDD support. This is all old new, but we're just posting it as it comes in. Stay tuned...

March 14, 2006 - Ken Kutaragi, PlayStation Master and keeper of big news has announced at the PS meeting today that the PlayStation 3 will be launching in early November worldwide for the North American, Asian, and European territories.
"A completely simultaneous launch is physically impossible," Kutaragi said, "but we believe we'll be able ship to users throughout the world around this time."
Sony's production line is set to pump out one million units per month to meet demand, with a total of six million units to be produced in Fiscal Year 2006 (through March 2007) alone. Production numbers are higher for PS1 and PS2 in their initial years.

So 1 million (or even 2 to be liberal) at launch WW is very similar to X360 launch which means ebay will be crazy.Comment

Re: Playstation 3 Information, hardware, games discussion Part II
Originally posted by APOCI disagree. Sony has had plenty of time to put together accurate number estimates. MS launch was poorly planned and it showed. They couldn't supply the demand for the 360 and I think that bruise will still show once the PS3 hits. One million a month? That is money in the bank. MS would have been better off launching this summer and giving themselves more time to make more units and work out the kinks.Comment

*Looks at Untold Legends screens*
*Sees it may not come with the HD that's NEEDED to play games*
This is one of the best....*checks date*....oh,it's not April 1st.
Has Sony lost their minds or are they just trying to see if people will blindly buy a PS3? Wich they probably will and it'll still be sold out and people can't get one and they'll break in a month too and it'll be the same diaster PS2 and 360 were.Comment

"The "father of the PlayStation," Sony's Ken Kutaragi, has over the years made some spectacular predictions of his own. Prior to the launch of PlayStation 2, the outspoken executive seemed convinced that his new console was 'the one.' He said of the platform: "You can communicate to a new cybercity. Did you see the movie The Matrix? Same interface. Same concept. Starting from next year, you can jack into The Matrix!" Right, Ken. Do us a favor: don't rent Johnny Mnemonic."DON'T PANICComment

Re: Playstation 3 Information, hardware, games discussion Part II
Originally posted by FootballForeveryour rightm they never once stated that the HD will be standard, I really think the PS3 will most likley be more then $500, I think it will be like $599/$699, thats just my guess.
Depending on how much they want to lose per machine I can't see this sucker being any less $600.00 US. That's potentially without a HDD, one controller and no games.
If some kid wants to get all that included the cost could hover around $1000.00. That's a rediculous amount but I think Japan is so Sony crazy that most people there will pay it.
If that's the cost for North American's it will probably mean a boost in 360 sales. If you can get a system that is equal in power (debatable) for half the price I see Sony helping Microsoft in that respect.Comment

Originally posted by AuburnAlumniHere is my thought on the whole PS3/360 debate...
We've all seen what the XBox 360 can do....Call of Duty, Fight Night, NBA and College Basketball 2K6 and now GRAW.
This piece of machinery is a MONSTER and we've only seen the very beginnings of what this bad boy can do. The online features are slick and the marketplace is awesome.
Unless PS3 has some RIDICULOUS exclusive games...I'll probably be holding off on getting one..if at all. And I'm one of the folks who can afford to drop 700 bucks on opening day for the system, extra controller, and a bunch of games. But why?
In all honesty...most likely..the PS3 will be about the same power/graphics/game-wise as the 360. On top of that...by the time the FIRST GENERATION PS3 games are coming out...Microsoft will have the SECOND GENERATION 360 games out...after the developers have had a full year to work with the machine.
Sony is going to take a MAJOR hit by Microsoft and it's because of many of the reasons I stated above.
There is already a GREAT Next Gen system out that is producing unreal games...and this is just the beginning.
For me, the only exclusive titles that the PS3 would have that I would be interested in are MLB The show and VB3 (whenever that comes out).Comment
