I don't care about those specs. I want to know how much this thing will cost, what size the HD will be (if its included), if I have to drop money on cooling devices like 360 owners are doing, how much it will cost to make my wireless controllers re-chargeable, etc etc. Basically, I'm ready to hear about how much money its going to cost to own a PS3, but I imagine they want to show off what the system can do first (and apparently can't do that just yet).

Since when do you "have to" buy a cooling system for the 360?
I never bought one and my (release day) system is doing just fine.

Judging by the popularity of the threads on said cooling devices here alone, it would appear the majority of 360 owners here are doing just that.

Actually just to point out that there are maybe 5 guys in that Thread that are getting it..Most of the posts are from the same 2-3 guys ..It soundz like a kuwl idea but It definatly is not needed I promise you that

Ditto. Feel that games are my priority right now. If anything, I'd be getting a skin for my 360 but that's not even a thought in my mind. Always games out there that need to be bought.......

Actually just to point out that there are maybe 5 guys in that Thread that are getting it..Most of the posts are from the same 2-3 guys ..It soundz like a kuwl idea but It definatly is not needed I promise you that

I'm not going to go through 10+ pages of posts to find out if what you say is true or not, but I do find it hard to believe more than 5 people here have purchased either the fanstand or new intercooler. With how the 360 runs, I would consider getting one if I owned one and had just spent 400 dollars on it. My roommates bedroom is like an oven when he's playing his 360 on his HD projector.

NO PS3 PREORDERS?

Ok, I just came from two different EBGAMES earlier looking to buy Top Spin 3 and both store employees told me that the word from corporate is that they will not be taking preorders for the PS3 because of the 360 fiasco and because they are expecting a shortage on the level of what happened with the 360. Dont know if thats true for every store but I found it strange that both store employees would tell me the same thing.

One by me has said they will start taking pre-orders shortly. I will wait until around E3 and pre-order then. It will be interesting to see what happens because they definatly took in more pre-orders than they should've which really annoyed people who pre-ordered and didnt get it on release. I can see where they wont take pre-orders but then that will cause for major issues on release day with people pushing and shoving to get in line and get one. It is rough on release for these consoles.

Here's the thing: One of the EB's I went to told me that they would be accepting preorders soon too a few weeks ago. This either is new information or the people in my area are just wrong. One of the employees said that customer complaints during the 360 debacle was the reason behind this decision.

I wouldn't blame EB/Gamestop after what happened with the 360. My guess is that they will do pre-orders, but not until they get accurate launch numbers. Probably a few weeks before launch. That worked when Toys R Us did their 360 pre-orders.

This is wrong, EB/Gamestop ARE to blame...My friend who is the manger at my local EB admitted that today... MS ordered both stores to stop taking preorders but they continued anyway; they are completely to blame.

As for no preorders; this is true guys..In fact there might not be preorders AT ALL; not in-store, not online NONE!!!

My stores DM stopped by yesterday to check on Kingdom Heart sales...He got into a conversion to lead to PS3 talk...The unofficial number that Sony is giving them doesn't look too good..Based on the numbers the split would be 3-5 units per store (employees get first dibs) 3-5 units guys, thats IT!!!

He told me until further notice there will be no preorders PERIOD...In fact EB/GS are toying with the idea of a in-store raffle..The raffle winners would then have to pay of their preorder to secure their PS3.

Even though this came straight from a DM, its still EB, so grain and salt...I'm at a lost for words (if this is true) so many people are going to get screwed its not funny.

That sounds about right maybe a little on the low side. My EB manager/bud told me his corporate office has given the stores a heads up and told them they expect Sony to produce only 1 million units for the worldwide launch...ouch. That will create chaos for the console and you know MS is just hoping that turns out to be true when by that time they'll have 360 stockpiles at all the stores.

Sony better produce more than a million that's all I gotta say.
