    how bout those cardinals?
I have too many "friends" as it is, so I don't need anymore "friends"

And the Cards looked good. But we'll see come Sept. 16th just how much they have improved from last year to this.

If Blu Ray movies can go through component and the $600 version isn't including an HDMI cable. Wi/Fi isn't something I'm sure most are worried about, the memory card slots aren't anything important, and the HDD is still 20 gigs.

What's the big benefit from the $600 version now?
EG, you make a very vaild point here.

This whole Blu Ray deal is going to cause some ramifications on Sony.

The $600 version has the HDMI cable, or is supposed to.

It has the connection for it, but no cable, that's been confirmed.

sorry, did not know. I was under the impression that the cable was included.

No need to be sorry, you had no idea. But I'm actually thinking the $500 version is going to way outsell the $600 version because the $100 price difference doesn't seem to gain you much, IMO anyway.

Well a $100 more is a bargin for a memory slot and 40 more gigs.

Depends on how much content the Playstation Network will be offering. We're already gonna see movies, music, games, hacks, and the works. With all that I see it being a multimedia machine rather than a gaming machine.

Now that I think about it, it will probably excel online and really turn into a community with what they're offering online (Singstar and Eyetoy will really be contributors this time). So 60GBs would be useful.

I don't say that to say I'll have $600+ to give up at launch though :o

400,000 available in the US on launch day or roughly 8,000 per state. Prices on ebay are going to be ridiculous
With me being from Canada I wonder how many will be made available here. Looks like Sony bit off more then they could chew.

"The supply we have at launch is comparable to what was available for the PS2, not Xbox 360," he said. "That being said, people shouldn't fixate on the day-one allocation number. They should instead be more interested in the overall units available through the holidays, which will be 1 million to 1.2 million, which are significant amounts that will provide retail supply week over week with no dips in available stock."

I'd take everything they say from now on with a grain of salt.

This is not a good look for sony and I'm a sony guy. I don't camp out for consoles either, so I will take what they are saying with a grain of salt. My other plan is to perhaps purchase it from a lower socio economic area in the hopes no one will be able to afford the $600 PS3. I know that sounds messed up but thats the plan. With Gamestop/EB taking preorders in early Oct., I can just buy it up front and wait until release date.

I could make so many jokes about this statement, but because of the thin skinned nature of posters I will practice restraint.
