Ouch. I might have to revise my Christmas List, though I did look forward to playing Jimi Hendrix.

Re: Guitar Hero 4
Basically, GH is on Madden level. No matter what, it will sale. Odds are they'll still be able to throw tons of cash at these bands, some being exclusive.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Re: Guitar Hero 4
I got the 360 bundle. Initial impressions. I have nothing against RB or GH. I enjoy both series except for GH3. Just some thoughts for everyone.
Drums: My set works fine and imo blows away the RB set. They are quite, bounce really well, and the elevated cymbals make the drums extremely natural. I would be frustrated if they didn't work but they work great, zero problems on my end. I have had zero issues with the pedal moving around. The spring on the pedal is shorter than RBs so its not as hard to press down. As long as my kit keeps working I'll keep it over RBs kit.
Vocals: My wife does this. She said that its very touchy but still fun. We need to turn the difficulty to see if the touchiness really hurts the game. So far nothing game killer.
Guitar: I've only played one song. The guitar is heavier and bigger. It's closer to feeling like a guitar and not a toy. I have not done the tapping so I can't comment on that. The strummer is a little quieter and the button fell similar to the other guitars.
I haven't felt like there are extra notes all over the place as there was in GH3. I'll play some more on the instruments and take questions if people have them. We've had fun so far.Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 4
You have it right with those words Eli. I wanted the new guitar and it seems to have all kinds of reported issues. I guess I either get another Les Paul for cheap since they will start getting clearance out or just go back to the RB2 guitar and get accustomed to it.Comment

I'll pick up the Xplorer if I can find one locally. I'm gonna leave WT on my Christmas list and see how it is when I get it.

Re: Guitar Hero 4
RB2 is better, but I am loving this game. The guitar is flawless (I don't mess with the touchpad) and the drums are great, but I just can't get into them. Mine drops the yellow cymbal sometimes and that is irritating.
One thing GHWT does superior to RB is stats, stars, and such. Much better than RB2 in that sense.
Regardless, I am all about more songs.Comment

which is my major question...if I buy I'm only getting the game alone..so are the 60 or so songs that arent already in rock band 2 worth the 60 bucks I'll be paying?...cause that comes out to about a dollar or so a song..cheaper than 60 new songs of dlc

Re: Guitar Hero 4
I am now through 20 songs or so. The variety is great.
The only problem we have had is with the mic. We can't get it to do starpower without hitting "A" on the controller. No biggie though.
DL'ed Death Magnetic and love it. Can't wait for Hendrix.Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 4
I liked a lot of songs before the game, much more than RB 2 and easily more than enough to justify a purchase soley on that but I'm even liking the songs I didn't really know or like before playing them in the game.
I was dissapointed the Lostprophets song wasn't the ninja one but I really liked playing Rooftops,it helps they did something really really cool with that song. The part that goes "Standin' on the rooftops everybody scream your heart out" the singer stops at everybody scream and then the crowd sings the rest. That could be just because I have the crowd volume all the way up and everything else at default but it made the song impossible to not like even though it wasn't the only song I know/wanted from them.
I liked the Linkin Park song too,I don't like Linkin Park other than One Step Closer (wich turned out to be not fun in RB 2) and I liked playing the song in this even though I only know it as "that Transformers song".
I was so sure the most fun I'd have on bass would be The Joker,if not then Hey Man Nice Shot but it turned out to be Beautiful Disaster.
Even kinda liked No Sleep 'Till Brooklyn despite being very displeased we still don't have Fight for Your Right.
Though of course not everyone is going to have it turn out like that so you should probably rent it first if you're going to be all picky about it like IGN.
To add on another reason this will continue to kick RB's *** sales wise, this has the PS2 and Wii crowd. Those are the biggest crowds and also the most casual crowd. RB didn't bulid up much faith with them.Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 4
You are asking the wrong person.
Without hesitation, I buy all these games. I think the more songs the better and playing The Eagles, Lenny Kravitz, Michael Jackson, etc... are well worth the $60.
It is a much better $60 then buying a broken sports game not named Tiger or The Show (or NHL, but I hate hockey).Comment
