I can easily dispatch of everyone except those guys.
My point is...I should be able to go into Marketh and simply murder everyone if I wanted.
(my loss on the quest lines...so be it.)

Except still not a bug but an unfortunate side effect of intentional programming.

I do agree though that invincible NPC shouldn't exist. It'd make the game much more real and would punish people who go on unrealistic (or realistic I guess depending on play style) killing sprees.

I think all this dialog proves for sure is that quest line is full of holes whether they are bugs or not. Luckily for me once I realized I had broken the quest line by my decision in the shrine I was able to use the automated file that was created upon entering the shrine and exited before the guards initiated dialog.
Went on to become Thane and the quest line is still in my log to go back to at some point.

Falmer can also be pretty tough early in the game, especially when you get attacked by 2 or 3 at once.

Yeah, everything's dangerous in groups. Even the first story dungeon's Draugr can mess you up if they gang up on you.

Well, I'm not exactly traveling alone. I have Lydia when she can keep up with my fast elven feet.

I never said it was a bug.....but it might as well be if the programming is forcing me to fight against the guards.....then labeling me a murderer....then keeping me from murdering everyone who might be able to finger me!

The strategy guide is a lifesaver. I would have been stuck in the Golden Claw quest at the snake-whale puzzle without it. I do have to say the method of grabbing items is extremely cumbersome-I have to do it repeatedly to put items in my inventory.

You ain't seen inventory issues until you have a couple hundred soul gems clogging up your Misc inventory.

Also,in the future if you're asking about specific things in specific quests try to use spoiler tags uf you can. Some people don't want you read anything regarding quests they haven't been on.

However, I can't get to the stupid tree because of it's giant roots in the way. I tried swiping at it with my sword and the nettlebane dagger looking weapong and nothing. The strategy guide says "Some quick swipes to the tree's gigantic root structure, which is blocking the path to the tree trunk..."

Plz help, I don't want to leave until i got it, was a fairly long journey to get here
