Except that if I went into say a house with 5 people in it...and then murdered one....and left, I would have a bounty and expect to be arrested for murder....but the game lets you murder all 5 and removes the bounty and the chance to be arrested because you've killed all the witnesses(I'm pretty sure that's how it works, I don't murder anyone usually)....but in this(and many) case, there are NPC's in the game that are considered "vital" to the game and cannot be killed(at all!!) and therefore there are always witnesses.
I can easily dispatch of everyone except those guys.
My point is...I should be able to go into Marketh and simply murder everyone if I wanted.
(my loss on the quest lines...so be it.)

I do agree though that invincible NPC shouldn't exist. It'd make the game much more real and would punish people who go on unrealistic (or realistic I guess depending on play style) killing sprees.

True, but I was going off of
Spoiler
If you resist arrest from the guards at the Shrine of Talos, instead of accepting jail time through dialogue, the guards will stay there even after finishing this quest and the No One Escapes Cidhna Mine quest. Entering the Shrine of Talos will prompt them hostile and when exiting the shrine again, Markarth will revert back to the state it was in before the escape of Cidhna Mine (Markarth guards in the street).
SpoilerIf you resist arrest, by killing them or running away, then you can't finish the quest or the escape the mine quest. Killing the guards in the shrine, at least for me, didn't make the rest of Markarth hostile towards me.
If you run from the guards how do you initiate and finish the escape the mine quest?
I think all this dialog proves for sure is that quest line is full of holes whether they are bugs or not. Luckily for me once I realized I had broken the quest line by my decision in the shrine I was able to use the automated file that was created upon entering the shrine and exited before the guards initiated dialog.
Went on to become Thane and the quest line is still in my log to go back to at some point.

Falmer can also be pretty tough early in the game, especially when you get attacked by 2 or 3 at once.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Well, I'm not exactly traveling alone. I have Lydia when she can keep up with my fast elven feet.

Except still not a bug but an unfortunate side effect of intentional programming.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Any tips for fighting the Dwemer spheres and basically any other Dwemer autobot.
SpoilerI'm in blackreach right now finishing part of the main quest and I'm getting absolutely handled by these guys. I'm a 2H Nord and the dwemers are the toughest things I've come across thus far.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
The strategy guide is a lifesaver. I would have been stuck in the Golden Claw quest at the snake-whale puzzle without it. I do have to say the method of grabbing items is extremely cumbersome-I have to do it repeatedly to put items in my inventory.Comment

Nettlebane
SpoilerSwiping with nettlebane will clear certain roots. Just make sure you're close enough, the dagger has a very short range.
Also,in the future if you're asking about specific things in specific quests try to use spoiler tags uf you can. Some people don't want you read anything regarding quests they haven't been on.

The strategy guide says "Some quick swipes to the tree's gigantic root structure, which is blocking the path to the tree trunk..."
Plz help, I don't want to leave until i got it, was a fairly long journey to get hereSpoilerPretty sure you just hack away at the giant roots with Nettlebane, and they should retract.Comment
