LOL, I remember that commercial. What a joke. Now Miller's going at it with their "triple hops brewed" BS.

I had two new brews tonight. Leinie's Sunset Wheat on tap, which might be my new favorite. I definitely agree with those in this thread who mentioned the fruity pebbles type of taste. Also had a Dos Equis Amber in a bottle, good stuff as well, I'd have it again for sure.

      Peroni is damn good too.

You guys should try Almaza, a Lebanese beer.

Guinness is a dry irish stout. It is by no means a heavy stout. If you are looking for a heavy stout try a russian imperial stout like Great Lakes Blackout Stout, or Oskar Blues Ten Fidy. If you really want one of the best you should have gone to Munster Indiana a few weekends ago for Dark Lord Day. That is one of the greatest stouts known to man!

I bought a sixer of Leinie's Amber yesterday, and didn't really like it as a beer to eat w/ food. We had Chili dogs last night for dinner; our little guy loves hot dogs - he's 19 months and will eat 3 Hebrew National dogs (no bun) while my wife and I eat 2 each.

Anyways...w/ the bread of the bun there was just too much of a hoppy/yeasty after taste.

I stand by Dos Equis Amber as THE BEST beer to drink w/ food.

Pairing Beer with food is very complex, and rewarding. It all depends on the type of food you are having. There are great websites out there devoted to matching the right beer to compliment your meal.

Seriously though...Since I started drinking Dos Equis I've had one w/ just about every meal and it goes down smooth: Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Chinese, Seafood, Mexican Food, pasta, vegetables...I'm even thinking about dunking cookies/oreos into it...it's that good...

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the Leinie's Classic Amber... way to bitter for me. I do like the Sunset Wheat, Honey Weiss, and Berry Weiss, though.

Last night for Cinco de Mayo we made beergaritas. Instead of Corona we used pacifico. It was a dollar less, and imo a little better (or just not as bad).

Certainly not a good example of havin a beer from a beer snob, but it was a nice mixup.

^^^^I had some of those the other day. Good stuff. I know it's not beer, but it's beer based.

Comparison to other beers? I'd love to try this out, looks delicious.

Had a Flying Horse at an Indian restaurant last night.

Supposedly the 'best' beer India has to offer.

Tasted a bit like apple cider.

I've had better, but I've also had worse.

Had the Leine Berry Weiss....AWFUL. It was fruit juice with beer mixed in. The sweetness of the beer was just too much. I downed 2 and couldn't handle a 3rd. Next time I get a sixer, I'm getting the Sam Adams Summer Ale to see how it compares with other summer ales.

Not a fan of Sam Adams Boston Lager.

However, I enjoyed Newcastle, and Blue Moon on tap > Bloo Moon on a bottle.

Some new ones I tried recently:

Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse: Very solid wheat beer. Reminds me a lot of Paulaner, which is one of my favorites.

Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat: It's got a really strong citrusy smell, but it goes down easy and tastes good. Solid all around.

                              Black Dog Honey Raspberry Ale:
I was nervous that this would end up being too fruity, but it ended up being really good. You can definitely taste the raspberry, but it's not overpowering. I liked it a lot.
