Yes, I'm in the same boat Apostle.

I went to a buffet with the fellas before the game, then, had 6 beers and a shot of 1800. Also, proceeded to dominated 3 slices of pizza. -___-

You're not the only one! 4 slices of pizza and untold amounts of alcohol. I fell WAAAAAY off my training table. My body has a 3-day delay so I'll see the results of my "work" about Wednesday...

        Day 15 of Paleo

I didn't care about the super bowl at all. I actually went for a run during the game. I'm going 30 mother f'ing days of hardcore Paleo. I've gone too far to fall off. Way too much money, time, work invested.

        My plan after 30 days:

Wed/Sun nights I'll have a reasonable meal and small desert. Slice of pizza and a cupcake or something.

        OMG that sounds delicious

I had pizza for the first time last night in almost a year.....it tasted good at the time, but boy is my gut revolting today! On the positive side, my gas has been absolutely hysterical.

Lol its funny how when your body gets used to eating healthy when you have a big cheat meal your insides make you pay for the next 24-48 hours.

I ate "Cinnasticks" from Papa John's... A lot of them

Doesn't help that I hadn't worked out in a week, and I'm finally feeling somewhat better, still weak. I know I need to workout but at the same time, I'm going to give it one more day.

                Isn't that the truth.

Today I was working forearms by curling a long bar backwards with light weight. I looked over at the mirror and for the first time, since working out, I feel like I'm starting to look like most of the dudes who have been in there at it for a while. It's awesome seeing your hard work actually pay off.

Swapping to the Chocolate flavored Syntha-6 from Banana.

Just mixed my first drink up with my blender and it's much easier to drink.. I liked the banana, but it came off kind of chalky to me.

I can't stand the banana. Too "banana'y" to me. Like they put too much banana flavor in it. Cookies n Creme, Double Chocolate, etc are delicious.

                        Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE

I owe an update. The eating well got off much better than the excercising and my diet has been pretty good for a few weeks now. My typical diet is:

                        Breakfast:
4 eggs or protein shake if low on time
Greek yogurt or Special K protein plus cereal with skim milk or whole grain oats (all except yogurt with a handful of raisins.
                        Whole grapefruit

                        Lunch:
Green salad with tuna/chicken/lunch meat and fat free dressing
                        or
                        Sandwich with whole wheat bread
                        or
Healthy choice frozen meal at work if I dont make something to bring

                        Dinner(pick from):
Grilled Tilapia or Baked Chicken thighs or Ground Turkey
                        Green salad
                        Brown Rice
                        Canned vegetables
                        Fat free cottage cheese

                        Snacks:
                        Peanut butter sandwich
Celery or carrots and fat free rench
                        Celery and PB
                        Sugar free fudgsicles (Desert)
                        Protein Shakes
                        Fruit (Oranges, apples, bananas mostly).

As far as the workouts, I joined a gym by my apartment and have been alternating cardio and weights. For about a month I think I am going to be using machines (full body workouts) to build a base from which to get into other types of resistance training (kettleball, body weight, crossfit, free weights, as some ideas). I have been enjoying working out, especially if I go before work I seem to have a much better day.

The biggest issue I am having results from addiction problems with alcohol and nicotene. The cigarettes (with the help of the patch) are going away much easier and when I drink it is straight liquor, however thhe calories in the quantities I can consume add up quickly. I am aware of both issues and am working on conquering them.

I am using body fortress advanced protein right now and am considering making a switch to syntha 6 or Optimum Nutrition. I am also looking into trying creatine and/or glutamine. I know people who swear by it and those who are against them. I may wait until I am working out more heavily before looking into that. I also take a multivitamin, fish oil, and caffeine pills as a pre-workout.

If anyone has any suggestions about any of this I am new to this and completely open to them. I really appreciate that there are such a knowledgable and helpful group of guys on this forum. Also, sorry for the long *** post.

                          Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE

Finally got my diet in check. Been right around 2000-2100 cals a day. Most everything contains a good amount of protein. Protein shakes, tuna/chicken sandwiches (canned tuna or chicken and water), greek yogurt, peanut butter, almonds, Life Choice high protein bars, Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers for lunch, etc. I think i'm averaging about 125-150g of protein a day.

I know that i'm not going to build a ton of muscle this way, even if I am lifting 3 times a week. However, i'm hoping that packing as much protein as I can into my low calorie diet can help me maintain as much muscle as possible while still losing weight.

I've been using Body Fortress as well, but what I do now is use Syntha-6 post workout. On days that I don't lift I use the Body Fortress since it's a slightly cheaper. If money is an issue, shop around online. You can get a 5lb tub of Syntha-6 for around $38, which is pretty much the exact same price for 5lb of Body Fortress would be although I think there are less servings.

From what I've gathered glutamine is a waste of money. Creatine is something I'm looking on starting up as well. Just make sure you don't do a "loading" phase as it's not necessary. Definitely worth taking as it's really cheap.

I'm curious on how the caffeine tabs are working for you as a preworkout. I've been really considering that option, but am hesitant because I'm not sure how it would work in the long term. What are your thoughts on it so far? Do you just take one 200mg tab? How often before you workout? Anything would be great info really.

So Super Bowl Sunday was not as bad as I initially thought... I braved the scale today and am 2.2 pounds down from last week... 254 pounds. Not bad considering I was around 270-275 around Christmas.

Should hit in the upper 240's next week or the week after... Diet has been very solid with a minor slip up on Super Bowl Sunday... The goal is still 235 by April 1 which would put me 38 pounds down in four months. 16 weeks, 38-40 pounds... Around 2.5 pounds per week or so...

That's the goal... and I'll get there. And that, my friends, will win my partner and I some cash... Hopefully.

But I do like it, for what it seems to be. I've read every review on Amazon, and the one beef w/ it is it's durability, and that doesn't seem like any concern from what I'm looking at. Maybe I used a "top quality" one, but my buddy got his from Dick's, which is likely where I'll get mine if I pick one up. I'm going to make my decision in the next hour or two, after I finish my workout this evening.

I liked the video presentation too, it was just the dude and his rack. No "fluff" filler in the background, etc. Guy does a good job of keeping the intensity and motivation up. We'll see how tonight goes.

If I'm still as impressed, I'm going to do a full 12 weeks with it. Granted, that's 90 days and I could do P90x, but I've been there, done that. Want to see hwot his compares.
Whats the update on the Rack?
