You can do an entire WOD inside a single squat rack.

    Ex:

21-15-9 (reps) of these exercises (so, 3 round circuit):

    -a strength exercise with the bar (squat/thruster/push press/dead lift/whatever)
    -pullups/pushups/kettle bell swing/etc
-mobility exercise such as air squats/box jumps/sit up to burpee/toes to bar/etc.

Point is...everything you do in this circuit can be done within the confines of a squat cage.

So I did wind up picking up a 10 lb. sledgehammer. Just have to find a big enough tire to beat on now!

Got chest/tri's/abs today. Bout to head down. Just waiting on the Jack3d to fully kick in, then it's clobberin' time.

        Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE

So, I put the Jack3ed and C4 up in the cabinet, as I'm done with it for a while, unless a friend wants to try it out.

I took a week off from using any sort of pre workout supplements and today I decided to pick up the N.O. - XPLODE 2.0. I've heard some good things about it + I really like BSN products. I all ready use Syntha-6.

They gave me a free sample of Hyper-FX, but I may not ever use it.

        So now..

I'm taking a Vitaman B-12 1500 with breakfast each morning.

Two shakes made with Syntha 6 each day

and N.O. - XPLODE for preworkout.

I'm hoping this combination keeps me operating smoothly.

I wish I lived in Trussville. I was talking to one of my friends who just moved there and he's got a gym dedicated to cross fit about a mile from his apartment complex. I just think I would need some personal guidance to be able to get into the routine, but I'm def. interested.

I'll probably work Chest / Legs / Abs tonight.

I did some light lifting to get my triceps and biceps back in good order, yesterday.

Thanks for the advice. I really need to do a better job of stretching etc now that I am getting older.

Basically my home gym is a power rack, an adjustable bench, some dumbells and a pullup bar so these type of workouts seem well suited to that so I'll give it a go.

I'm checking out the crossfit page at the moment and going through the FAQ etc. Some good stuff on there.

So do you always just use the WOD from the website? Are you doing 3/1 or 5/2 times per week training?

I feel stupid for asking this but I can't seem to find the workout of the day for every day?

For example for monday it just has "Clean and Jerk 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps"

Is that it for the day?

Got a Stew Smith workout program. Started on his 30 day beginner program. Did 15 minutes on the stationary bike averaging about 10 MPH. It stinks not being able to work the upper body cause of my messed up shoulder.

            Link to the program: http://store.stewsmithptclub.com/newfifiwo.html

              Incredible,

I remembered you mentioning the N.O. XPLODE.

If you don't like tangy flavors, stay away from the blue jazz or whatever they call it. It's got a wild taste to it. I just mixed 1 1/2 scoop with 16 oz of water and the first drink made me pucker up my lips a bit.

I'll let you know how well it worked for me, after I get home from the gym.

Yeah let us know how the NOXplode 2.0 went and maybe how it compares to Jack3d? I'm eager to hear.

Also I think my chest is starting to get more ripped, my shoulders are getting wider, and my biceps are popping out of my sleeves a little more, also I'm starting to notice girls are giving me more looks... like the good kind of looks.

Still haven't had any luck with approaching, interacting with any but the looks are coming just got to keep focused. By summer time I want to make some chicks faint when the shirt comes off on the beach.

                  Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE

                  I'm thoroughly impressed with it.

I completely dominated my workout about 30 minutes faster than expected. I worked Chest and Abs with about 10 minutes of cardio.

I waited 10 minutes after the drink to assess how I felt and I didn't feel the usual jitter. I was skeptical until I almost got to the gym and something in me clicked and I went through the door and got right on it. I usually stop and talk, but I had absolutely no interest in that.

I would stay away from the blue flavor. I had the 'blue flavor' jack3d and c4 and they were fine, but this stuff takes some getting used to. It doesn't kick in quite as fast as the jack3d, but once it does.. it's great.

Overall, I like it better than the jack3d. I don't feel any pre workout or post workout jitters and ,like I said, I dominated my workout.

I'm trying to find a good workout routine for myself.

                  I think I'll start going Chest/Abs

                  Legs/Triceps

                  Back/Biceps

For some reason, I don't do as well when working chest/tris in the same session.. and I usually get bored with legs, so I think it may help with that.

Also, my biceps seem to benefit just as much from my chest workout as it does the day I focus on them... just a careful observation.

I've used NO 2.0 for the past month or so. I actually like the old blend better, for some reason. I'm going to try the Blue Razzberry, or whatever it's called. I'm big on the "pucker" factor. I have Lemon Lime, and I don't like it at all.

With that said, I'm actually up in weight to 225 right now, but around an inch smaller around the waistline, so I'm doing something right

That's the flavor that I bought. It's def. takes a little getting used to. The first drink I took from it made me cuss a little, lol..

I'm still floating around 228 and have been for a few weeks. I def. feel like I've gained quite a bit of muscle over the past month or so, so I'm going to chalk that up to losing a little bit of fat and putting that weight back on with muscle..

What bicep workout do you guys usually follow ? I'm looking for some creative ideas or just something that I don't do, in order to spice things up. I seem to struggle the most with biceps, but do well with triceps.

I've heard so many good and bad things about almost every pre-workout formula, that i'll just stick to what works for me. Right now, Jack3d is still getting the job done. I got a buddy bringing me a sample of Muscle Pharm Assault, which i've heard good things about. We'll see how that goes.

Yeah, everyone has a different experience with each product.

There are several people who work out at my gym, that are big on 'Assault', right now. I've just had good results with BSN products, so I decided to try the N.O.

If it's working, I would def. stick with it.

They slipped me a sample of the Hyper FX by BsN, when I got my N.O., but I don't really see the point in even taking it. It just seems like an overkill and would be a complete waste of money.

If you really want a kick start take Bronkaid with caffeine pills. Better known as the EC stack. Bronkaid is an OTC asthma medicine that contains ephedrine (25mg I believe)

                            Closely monitor dosage!!!

I did it for a couple months but quickly built up a tolerance. My body does not react much to...well anything.

Lol I find when I'm alone in the house the hardest times to keep in check diet wise.

I guess it comes from being a fat kid with a healthy, fit mother and trying to sneak junk food all the time. It's almost like my brain goes 'sweet now you are alone you can eat what you want' * slowly reaches for chip packet.

Bent over rows and barbell curls seems to be working fine for me. Anything else seems like it would be overkill. I struggle with biceps too, but it's mostly because my wrist strength is lagging behind.
