Re: 2013 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Dang I feel like I'm the only one in here actually trying to gain weight. Gaining weight has always been a problem for me, Was climbing towards 150 being at 145 before I got sick, then I really dropped down to 137. Now I'm back up to 143... hopefully I can reach 150 by summer.Minnesota Vikings

You were trying to get set up with some Dumbbell workouts at Home a little while back. How's that going for you? Were you ever able to get yourself set up?Minnesota Vikings

Yeah, it was just last Sunday I was asking about that. I looked at some today while I was at Academy looking at different ones. Some are more expensive than others but not sure if it matters.Comment

Re: 2013 FITNESS CHALLENGE
I'm debating on cancelling my gym membership.
I've started going to the park and running, doing stadiums, pushups, and situps. Just running 2 miles yesterday made me feel more out of shape then I thought I was. Luckily, I've been working out with this girl I'm dating and she's just as into it as I am and it's been a lot easier.
I'm not doing any sort of weights over the next few weeks. I'm dieting and trying to cut. I've done pretty well today in comparison to usual. I had a marketfresh wrap from Arbys and fruit and vegetables.
Do any of you have any suggestions for something healthy, but tasty to eat with carrots Most things I've used to dip with are unhealthy.
The plan is to start waking up earlier on my late shift days and hit the park for a run, then go swim, and then go to work. She seems pretty enthusiastic about it so I hope it makes things easier.Last edited by AUChase; 02-25-2013, 07:04 PM.Comment

Re: 2013 FITNESS CHALLENGE
It's definitely gonna help me lose even more weight now that I'm in a circuit training class on tuesdays and thursdays. Really happy with my progress. Dropped from 255 to 235 in two months mostly in thanks to just eating well and lifting lighter weight and more reps. Stepping up the amount of pure cardio now. Hope to be around 210-220 by the middle of May when I get out of school.Comment

Re: 2013 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Started my morning with a bowl of oatmeal and bananas with no other addatives. I'm going to let it settle for a few minutes and then get into a home cardio video I found on YT. I can't make it to the park today and I'm doing this in case I can't get to the gym tonight..
Going to hit this cardio routine and then get out a deck of cards for some pushups and then some situps. My legs are still aching from that run Sunday. This may help me keep up the cardio, but save my legs for tomorrow.Last edited by AUChase; 02-26-2013, 11:12 AM.Comment

Re: 2013 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Getting so motivated from watching documentaries on netflix like "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" and "Hungry for Change".
I started my reboot/reset yesterday, and quickly failed as I got home for dinner as pot roast tempted me. Felt like crap aftewards and like a failure - but rewatching these movies (especially Fat,Sick and Nearly Dead) has remotivated me.
Back on the "juice" now- cannot wait to give this thing a real try now that I know how I feel after cheating.
Wish me luck!Comment

Re: 2013 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Ok guys I need your help/advice. I am 45 years old and weigh in at 215. I am 5'10" so I would like to get to about 180.
I have been very inactive for the past couple of years and was recently diagnosed with bone spur in my left heel. Movement doesn't really bother me during its usually just after.
My diet is not horrible because I am a Chef. So I do not eat a lot of junk. But I do love my pasta and I make a Risotto that will rock you world. Going to a straight diet of fruits and veg with white meat only for the next couple of months.
So what is the safest, most effective way to get my butt off the couch and in motion. I would like to build up to a regular routine that is not too tough or demanding but gets me moving and has some cardio and toning. But the more important thing is to just get me moving.
Thanks for any tips or advice you guys have.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Walking can give you that form of cardio, and yet still be manageable for someone just starting out a Cardio routine, and shouldn't put too much stress on your heel. Just walk around your neighborhood for 20-30 minutes a day at a brisk pace.
Also thought about throwing in some Weightlifting in your routine? You can stay fairly stationery and still burn cals, work up a sweat doing some good compound lifts. (Bench, Squats, Deadlifts)Minnesota Vikings
