You're spewing nonsense in here like it's complete factual information, most without any context. Depending on what you are trying to achieve rest periods and intensity aren't completely parallel with one another.

The amount of time is somewhat variable depending on one's level of conditioning, but regardless. If intensity goes up, so does the length of rest.Comment

What are you referring to?
90% effort, or 90% maximum capacity of weight?
Because effort has nothing to do with length of rest. Maintaining intensity is directly related to building muscle endurance which is achieved by getting into the habit of taking shorter rest periods and maintaining intensity over longer periods of time.

No, intensity has a set definition and has for decades... dating back to Eastern block texts pertaining to strength and conditioning training.
Intensity is defined as degree of effort when comapred to maximum capacity.
You cannot train multiple sets at high intensity without longer rest periods. This is impossible.Comment

So...
I don't know if I am going about this all the right way. I am using the Weight Watchers point system, and I am working with a trainer, and I have seen results. I am sure there are things I could do better, but I have cut out soda and sweets - (although I have had a sweet tea or two) and I have cutback on fried food. I think it's okay if every now and then I treat my self. This Sunday if I feel like getting some fajita burritos or want a burger tomorrow for lunch, it's okay as long as I don't eat it all the time, get the super size meal, a soda and a dessert with it. If I still drink water, use portion control, I should still be able to enjoy foods that I like, correct?
Like I said before, there just seems to be so much information out there, some pull you one way, while the next article I read pulls me the opposite way. I also know, what works for one person may not work for me.Comment

Your situation is a little different, but I think you have the right mentality.
I cut sodas, sweets, fried foods, and started running every day and I dropped those 20lbs like a bad habit. It won't happen at once, but once you speed up your metabolism and you notice that you aren't getting as full on those smaller healthier meals, you will start seeing the weight go.
I got frustrated because I was stuck at 215 for a few weeks even though I was working my *** off and then I started losing a pound or two every few days.
I only ate unhealthy when going on dates and the occasional weekend meal and it didn't hurt me at all. If you don't eat something you really want from time to time, you may splurge when you finally do break down and eat it.
So yeah.. I think you got it right.Comment
