Have completely cut out sugar from my diet and only eat high protein meats and about 50g of carbs a day mostly from veggies. Have continued to do 30 minutes of cardio 5 days a week and circuit weight training 3 days a week. I started this on November 1st (I know last year but close enough) and as of today 2/5/2013 I have lost a total of 70 pounds......almost 30 this month. I am now at 220 and still want to lose this extra 20 and tone. I think that cutting out the sugar has been the biggest thing that has helped me because I feel like I have so much more energy to work out. Just thought I would share my progress.

Also, I would like to add that this wasn't just a quick weight loss for me. I now eat far better and control my portions, both of which will help me in the long haul.

Re: 2013 FITNESS CHALLENGE
If you guys are interested in the 24 Day Challenge... Message me for details. That's all I will say.
I weighed myself on Day 13 and was 12 pounds down (256 to 244). This is still with consuming around 2,200 calories per day. The program makes you want to eat the recommended diet, but it is all good food. I have been very, very strict with it but have not once felt a craving for a soda, candy, or anything else sweet. My energy levels are amazing - when you work Graveyard, energetic is never a word I used to use to describe myself, but all that has changed.
Lost three sizes on my belt loop so far... Got measured for a tux today for my buddy's wedding in March and I have lost five full inches from my waist.
It's not made to be a quick fix - but if you follow the program, you will get real results that will help you change your lifestyle. I know I have.
Two days to go... I am guessing that I've lost 16-18 pounds and 15-18 total inches. We'll see!Comment

I am having trouble on trying to figure out what to eat. I thought about chicken breasts, fruit and veggies, but some say that's not the way to go. So much contradicting information out there I don't know which way to go.
I just want to lose these 15 pounds, get rid of this gut and start seeing my abs.
It's hard for me to go to the gym, any exercises I can do at home? Push ups, sit-ups, get some free weights to use at home?Comment

Re: 2013 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Nah. You can adapt it to however many calories you want/need. I basically used it as a guide until I was comfortable enough with it to come up with stuff on my own.

Re: 2013 FITNESS CHALLENGE
So I was experimenting with different Proteins, got an I-Force Protein, and one from Dymatize. Decided to go back and order a Chocolate-Peanut Butter Combat Powder and I'm wondering why I ever left it. Combat is by far the best tasting Protein I've tasted, and it just leaves me satisfied after drinking it.Minnesota Vikings

Re: 2013 FITNESS CHALLENGE
So I tried out that kettlebell/bodyweight circuit I made up myself a page or so back. I completed the workout on Wednesday evening, and I'm STILL sore as hell. Absolutely killer workout. I was nauseous for about 30 minutes or so after the workout, as my body was totally ravaged. The combination of kettlebell work, bodyweight exercises, and the burpees at the end hit literally every muscle I can think of. And it's not like I haven't been working out for a couple months prior to it, as I'm in pretty decent shape, yet I'm still crazy sore.
Needless to say, I'll be sticking with it.Comment
