      Late to the party...

      I'm 5'10" and weighed in on the first at 182 and not a "in shape" or even close to "in shape" 182...its a plump 182.

      I don't have a weight goal really, I just want to get in good shape. I hope to fit comfortably into my good suit by April when I have a wedding to attend, which means I need to drop at least 1 waist size by then.

      My church has started up this thing called "Faith and Fitness" where they have the gym open once a week for whatever and a short devotion, I went tonight for the first time and played basketball for an hour and a half. It really helped me understand how out of shape I am, but really pumped me up to get in shape. So I intend to go to that each week and when I'm not there I plan on doing some sort of exercising at home or at work.

      Last year I went through two spells of working out. First it was at the start of the year but then I wound up having to get my tonsils out and had to relax for 2 weeks and didn't get back into my routine. Then I started working out in the late Spring but once the weather got too hot and I was coming home from work nearly melted, I stopped and had not done anything until tonight.

      Here's to keeping this mind set and even if something gets in the way, MAKING time to get it done!

        Just got word that I was accepted to do yoga teacher training in Boracay, Philippines. Can't wait to get there and accomplish this goal. Got some work to put in before I get there

          Went for a 2 mile run after doing no physical activity since rugby season ended. Unfit and out of shape.

            Started P90x back up last week. I'm pretty out of shape, but p90x whipped me back into shape pretty quickly the last time I did it.

            I'm only doing half the workouts to start out because I've injured myself trying to do too much too quickly before. My goal is to trim about 15-20 pounds and get more lean while maintaining my muscle mass and getting a little more defined. It shouldn't be difficult if I can make myself continue with the workouts. I'm not going to go crazy if I miss a workout or if I have a not so great for me meal every once in a while. I just need to make sure I'm progressing through March so I can be ready for golf season. I'm trying to take my game up a notch this year and I need to be stronger and more flexible to do that.

                I wasn't really a fan. It was mostly fast breaks for the first game and a half, then everyone got tired and it turned into slowly walk the ball up court.

                I prefer half court if we only have 6 guys. You almost get just as much exercise and there's more bball action. Plus snow birding isn't something you have to worry about the other team doing.

                  Man it's been a brutally rough start to my 2013 Fitness quest. Came down with a pretty bad Cold, completely stuffed up, fever, muscle aches and all. I suspect one of my co-workers got me sick. (Darn you)

                  So I've only had a Grand total of One workout since the new year, this really sucks.. I just want to get over this and get back to working out but I don't want work out while my bodies trying to get over this illness so I just have to wait it out.

                    Get well Feared. It sucks getting sick and having to skip workouts.

                    Day two down of that Navy Seal modeled workout I posted a few days back. Absolutely killer workout, and it's only week one. Today was:

                    - 2 mile run at an 8:30 pace
                    - 3 sets of 3 pullups
                    - 4 sets of 15 pushups
                    - 4 sets of 20 sit-ups

                    Individually, the sets aren't bad. But jumping right into them after a two mile run is rough. I've been supersetting the pullups, sit-ups, and pullups as well. So after the run, it was one set with no breaks of 3 pullups, 15 pushups, and 20 sit-ups. Quick break, then right back at it.

                    Looking at the end of the routine 18 weeks down the road, I'll be up to 5 sets of 12 pullups, 20 sets of 20 pushups, 20 sets of 25 sit-ups, and also tricep dips which get introduced after week 9. If all goes well, I should be in absurdly good cardiovascular in a few months.

                      So far, I'm down to 354.

                      Only 54 more to go by the end of March.

                      Unfortunately, Pennsylvania Golden Gloves start next month so I'm going to count myself out of that, but National Golden Gloves are still a few months away.

                        I told myself last night was a free day, so I worked various upper body muscles and tried to hit some of those areas I may have not worked hard enough on my back/bicep and chest/tricep days.

                        I've started to get to know the night time gym people and they all seem pretty cool. I also found out one of my good friends and his older brother work out there at night, so that may make things better. The dude is jacked though, he'll be doing weight that I won't be able to.. that's for sure.

                        At least I will have some people to help push me when I'm lacking motivation, which is rare.

                              Month 2 of Insanity is nasty as hell. The first week at least. I'm hoping next week I'll be better conditioned. As if my arms and shoulders weren't toned enough - my God all these pushups lol.

                                Well after getting back on the fitness wagon somewhere around November I've gone from 260lbs to 237lbs. I haven't been able to lift since just before Christmas because I came down with bronchitis and also did something to my chest. I have no clue what I did to my chest think I did something in my sleep. I feel it's healed up enough to get back at it next week. My goal is to get to around 200lbs while maintaing and in some cases increasing my strength.
