    Re: 2013 FITNESS CHALLENGE

So my flexibility is horrible. Can't even come close to touching my toes (have only been able to for my short period of time where I was truly 'fit'.) Did some DDPYoga today and worked up a good sweat, which felt good to do for the first time in a long time.

I think I'll be doing the Diamond Dozen, which is basically just 13 exercises to stretch/warm up/isometrically work your muscles) every day. To go along with this, I have somewhat of a six-pack... but it's basically covered up a little up top with a little more fat at the bottom (but still visible... it's just where I've lost the most muscle due to not working them in forever.) I'll be doing the Red Hot Core workouts probably every two days, resting the third, then going forward.

As this continues and I begin to feel better and better (along with increased flexibility) I'll add more of the videos and do more of a set routine... those are the two things I want to focus on right now though, since lifting is still off limits for me.

      Re: 2013 FITNESS CHALLENGE

I had a bad week guys. I went crazy on Chicken Parm (the breading was the killer), some turkey sandwiches (they were too big and the bread was the killer here) but being Easter week it was a very fish-centric week and I think that saved me for the week in terms of dieting. Saturdays are my progress days (no scales except for saturdays) and it still said I had lost a pound. So for all the struggles this week I still went down so I know I didnt go too crazy even though all week I swore I put on at least 3 pounds. But it was still disappointing.

Later that night I found myself at a party and broke my diet big time. Had so many chips and dip, had a beer, a glass of coca cola and a shot of Jameson. It had been the first time in about a month and a half that I drank something other than water. I kinda felt guilty about that. But somehow my workouts this weekend saved my ***. i broke down and looked at the scale and dropped another two pounds. So in about 5 weeks Im down 23 pounds. Im glad after a week like this one the progress hasnt been derailed.

Im still trying to find some dietary options. Ive given up my love of pasta but I just cant drop the bread and rice. I greatly lowered the rice intake but its such a big part of cuisine in my family. The bread is just my love of sammiches. Im still searching for the perfect bread to keep me in check though.

I know everyone is different, but I have still been eating bread in my diet and steadily losing. I just don't really eat the sweets, drink soda, or eat fried foods. I have ate worse over the past week, but I'm still hanging in there. I'm weighing in tomorrow, hopefully stil at or below 213.

Try healthier breads (whole grain, wheat, etc) and brown rice.

Wraps are also good for replacing sandwiches. Also try english muffins (whole wheat).

I eat bread, but only the plain whole wheat bread. Every now and then like if I go to a Sandwich shop, or Subway I'll get the Italian bread but only because I think some sandwiches taste better on it.

24 hours of straight juicing down (so far so good though I did have some hunger pains late in the work day today) only 96 more to go.

I started dieting January 2nd of this year (started at 119.3). I dropped the first 9-10 pounds relatively quick (within the first two weeks). I dropped the next 8 or so before 4-6 weeks later and spent almost all of March stuck around 201-202.

I started juicing Sunday night and weighted in at 201.6 that morning. Today (after 37 hours of nothing but juice) I weighed 198.3. I suppose that most of it could be water weight, but man did that number look good. Only 8 more pounds to my goal.

                      Re: 2013 FITNESS CHALLENGE

Weighed in at MEPS this morning.

I'm at 208lbs.. I had to make a written statement on my physical activity for the doctor in Nashville. I made sure to mention I went from 226 down to 208 and I work every day to get it down.

They cleared me on BMI and weight and now I'm waiting to hear back on my waiver for hypertensia.

I couldn't believe I was 208. I went to the top floor gym at the hotel last night and ran for a while. It was sort of cool running and looking out and seeing the skyline.

I hope this doc approves of my waiver. I've done every thing they have asked of me and some. I had a nurse do a three day check on my blood pressure and everything. If he approves it.

Yay for working on improving your health!

I've ate like a *** **** rabbit for a month. I'm eating something bad today and taking a day off.

I'm going to play bball during my lunch break. This probably isn't a good idea.

Still rolling through Insanity, just finished Day 16 and down a total of 12 lbs. Eating healthy has become a habit by now and really enjoying it. Hope to never see myself eating the way I was three weeks ago.

                            Down another 1.7 lbs today

No solid food going on 64 hours now. No headaches, fatigue or anything so far, just a rumbling belly every now and then.

Only 56 more hours to go. I'm over the hump!

                                This one:
                                http://www.amazon.com/Hamilton-Beach...n+beach+juicer

Here's a good site for juice recipes too: http://juicerecipes.com/

There are some good ones and there are others that taste like tree. However, I'm not really drinking them for the taste.
