Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
I went ahead and ordered one, I'll just wait. Also snagged a full replica of mask 4. Great stuff!

All of the relevant metrics seem to be heading in the right direction. Daily average deaths are down, cases are down, while tests are up.I write things on the Internet.

Tests are dumb. If we would have avoided tests in the first place, we would still be at 0 cases. At least that is what people are saying.https://public.tableau.com/profile/c...c/Introduction

Meanwhile here in Texas, we had the highest number of deaths and new cases yesterday. Re-opening began on May 1st.https://public.tableau.com/profile/c...c/Introduction

I remember a lot of hand ringing going on about Georgia opening up 2 weeks ago; I haven’t looked at their numbers, but I haven’t heard anything negative...how has it gone for them?

I haven't heard anything either but 2 weeks is a bit short to really see the impact if any. People might have gotten infected on the first day of reopening and not know it yet. I think we'll have a better idea in another week or two.Comment

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
There's too many variables and flat out unknowns for either side to say "told ya!" when recorded infections go one way or the other. Maybe if we could go back in time and magically test everyone in the country in Jan/Feb (or earlier) to see what the real numbers were we'd have a better idea. But we can't even do that right now, so we are truly lost in that sense.Comment

Yup. Connecticut is “opening up” on the 20th, but that’s still highly restricted. Restaurants will be able to do outdoor seating only for example. So there’s that what opening up actually means. Plus things opening doesn’t mean everyone is going to rush out and to places. It could take weeks or months for people to get more comfortable and then we’ll see what happens.
I’m optimistic the summer is gonna be relatively ok. People will remain careful for the most part, obviously not everyone, and people are going to spend more time outside. Hopefully by fall and winter we have if not a vaccine better treatments

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
It's all very regional, and stay at home orders were never going to have a significant effect on total deaths. We were past the point of no return by the time places started shutting down. It was all about timing the peak to a point where you had gotten testing and tracing to an acceptable level and built hospital capacity to handle the peak.
I personally do not believe that tracing is near what it should be here, but I am confident that anyone who is experiencing symptoms in any part of the state will be able to be tested. That was not the case until recently. I am also confident that there will be a bed for people who need them. Though I think that will be tested once restaurants, and especially bars open on June 1st. I am not nearly as confident that the State will be able to effectively isolate outbreaks quite yet, but the gradual opening of things will allow the State to develop that part of it.
That's really where we're at here. It sounds morbid, but here we go.Comment

My complex has a room for all package deliveries. Myself and a girl were in the room together. Both wearing mask and barely anything said. No sneezing or coughing. The room is about size of a walk on closet.
Anywho I'm sure I'm fine but dang the anxiety is strong. Shoulda waited until she got her packages and then walked back in! Mad at myself!Last edited by Councilmann_Jamm; 05-15-2020, 03:48 PM.Comment

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
Virginia opened up under "phase one" today; saw that the restaurants, salons, etc are open now...and they are PACKED. There was literally a line out the door and around the corner for the salon, some restaurants doing live music and there wasn't an open seat/spot outside. Will be interesting to see how it plays out..."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do.
