It was phenomenal, as all my games on this set have been.

I do have one question. The lone wart for me is these odd games where the CPU just throws a ton of picks. I have Hawk off, don't switch to user pick, but I have 2 outlier games in my first 6. In the first, Goff threw 3 INTs, and in the second, Luck threw 5. All the other games have been normal.

I'm considering applying Sabo's QB traits edits to help bring those down, potentially. Do you have an opinion on that strategy? Are you seeing these types of games?

Everything else is fantastic, but if I can minimize the picks, I would love to.

Short answer: Sure, you can start trait editing and stuff (that would be the best way to not upset the balance of the set).

Longer answer: OK, 3 INTs in a game is hardly an outlier, not good...but I think nothing of it. 5 in a game, definitely ugly, but it happened 3 or 4 times in the NFL last year (none this year, which in of itself is an outlier)...but the Colts run a vertical-heavy offense (and Luck is pretty aggressive) so it can happen depending on game flow.

I get what you're saying and sure, I have had games like that. But, I guess my take is what's the point of playing in a game environment where those outliers can't happen? I WANT games with 5 picks thrown, I WANT games where teams get 0.9 ypc in the run game, I WANT games with 7-8 sacks by a team, I WANT 200+ yard rushing games by a RB. That's kind of what I am going for here...embrace the fact that ANYTHING can happen.

My biggest flaw in doing sliders for years was that I tried to get every game to fit within a certain mold. I would finally manage to get it, get all excited to start my CFM, and then get bored with it because every game felt the same.

Now, I go into a game wondering how it's going to unfold or things like if I'll be able to contain a particular player. I can play the same matchup 10 different times and get 10 completely different "stories" (the Pats might beat the Dolphins 9 out of 10 times, but those 9 wins will play out fairly differently...perhaps with some matchup-dependent themes). That's really the beauty of using this type of approach IF one is able to really embrace the variety and trust the sliders (it's taken me more than a year to really EMBRACE this mindset too, so I get it).

Does anyone else think man coverage needs a little fix? The cb will just stop and let the reciever go by then try to catch up with him.

Heading into week 8, year one of my Vikings CFM. Some random notes:

4-2-1
*Tied SF week 1, went to OT 21-21. I kicked a FG, so did they, then we scrummed around until time ran out. Then, they sent us back to kickoff. Had to play another OT for some stupid reason, probably the 5th or 6th time I've ran into some type of nonsense in this game since they changed the OT rules.

*Lost Xavier Rhodes in the pre season until week 7. This was certainly an ongoing series of adjustments and spending copius amounts of time in practice trying to figure out who should play where, when, and in what sets. Love it. Both Garrapolo and Rodgers threw for 400 yards before I got a handle on things. By week 4, I was able to hold Goff and the Rams under 250 yards and 9 points.

*Next week in Philly was a totally different day. They found so many ways to use Sproles at times I least expect it most unprepared. It was awesome. They simply out played me I need a 27-19 loss.

*Back home against the Johnsonless Cardinals. Sam Bradford tore me apart in the first half for 220 and 3 scores. Then of course, the goofy dork got hurt. Rosen played like he wasn't ready to play. I held them to 45 yards in the 2nd half (305 in the first).

*Off to New York and another rookie. Sam Darnold played like he ate a bunch of mushrooms an hour before kickoff. Just panicking, reacting to perceived pressure that wasn't really there, it was great. 35-3.

*The injuries seen overwhelming for a second. But they aren't. It had to play out a little. However, Dalvin Cook has either had to leave, or entirely miss, all 7 games.....it's gotten better, but I have to keep him at or around 15 touches.

* Zero penalties in the Jets game, otherwise...I was 20th!!! Love that. Love the consequences for aggressive pass rush and tackle, ect..it's almost 50/50. However there is a glitchy thing where if you just stay in aggressive pass rush, the offsides stop happening. I only call that adjustment on 3/4th and 10 or longer.
