I'm optimistic I'm going to hit it big with the lottery.

Doesn't make it anymore likely.

Clint and I are all over this. We made some progress this year with offsides and encroachment (the 2 most frequently called penalties in the NFL) in M15 and we are absolutely going after PI and a bunch of others next year. I can assure you that nobody at EA is telling us we can't do penalties.
Pass interference is only part of it. Also, I don't want to see it implemented like it is now or the way injuries are. Nothing about that is realistic, it is just a random call. One thing I will give them credit for is for "clipping" (this gets called since they don't call it illegal block in the back), it will get called when you actually see it happen. If you are returning a kick you will see a guy get blocked in the back and go down. That's cool.

Make the penalties get called when they actually happen, not just at random and not always on 3rd down after you've converted a 3rd and 6.

If I am a developer on Madden I would start this project by sitting down with this: http://www.nfl.com/rulebook/penaltysummaries

Not ALL of these will translate well to a game, but most can and should. Remember, "if it's in the game...".

There should be no excuses as to why something "can't" be done in this space. It's software, nothing is impossible.

I wouldn't call it eternal optimism, that's for sure, it's more of a gut thing with Rex, more than anything.

If my gut is wrong, I'll be the first to admit it.

It's obvious penalties have not been given much if any thought. The fact that they still have "clipping" and don't have the rules that have been more emphasized recently: roughing the passer, illegal contact, etc. It's really just a matter of taking the time to do it. Technology definitely isn't holding them back.

They took that part out of the slogan. Now, it's just "it's in the game".. which is much easier to defend

Sure it is but if we're just going to throw around cliche quotes:

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"

I'm with you but this isn't the SAME Madden. How much Madden 25 did you play? A modest estimation for myself is 30+ hours. Most of which were editing sliders and comparing how madden played with tons of different settings. This isn't the same madden as last year and its easy for me to see from the videos. If it looked exactly the same I would say so. Rex isn't the same developer from the last 10 years is he? Lots of things aren't the same but if you choose to only look at the negative and what they haven't changed then you won't see what has.

Please show me where I am doing the same thing over and over and over and expecting a different result. I'll wait..
