Re: What would prevent you from buying Madden 19?

This whole 60 dollar thing is beyond me. Hate to defend ea, but video games have always been 60 dollars. If you play it for 10 hours, i think you got your money’s worth. It’s like watching a blu ray 5 times. I get frustrated with the game as well, but it’s just 60 bucks. And I’m not rich by any means.

Let’s just hope the game doesn’t turn into pay as you play on the sim side like the MUT junk is. Now that would be a rip off. Just having the game previous patch for a few weeks was worth the 60. Hate to be a defeatist, but it’s capitalism. Making stuff worth a damn ceased as an American Ideal a long time ago. Nothing’s made to last. Why would video games be any different?

There is some truth to that. If the cost of video games had risen with the cost of inflation, they should be ~$100-$120 for a top game by this point.

Granted, for a lot of games today, by the time you by the DLC/expansion pack/Season Pass that complete the produce, you have spent $100-@120. Personally, I would rather they raise the cost of the game upfront, and do less of the microtransaction model, but that is not the way of things.

Re: What would prevent you from buying Madden 19?

Even with all I said, I don’t think I’ll buy next year if the CPU QB AI isn’t like it was for the last patch. Almost didn’t but this year because of that. But without NCAA coming out, what else is there to do.

Gotta have my fix.

Man I wish Front Page Sports still put out a football game for PC. Back in ‘96, they really had it going on. Miss the play editor from that game as well. And the easy to edit rosters.

Remember it came in 8 little a: drive disks. Took half a day to load it. Oh wait. Still takes that long on Madden. You could print out boxscores (bet i still have some at mom and dad’s house).

Still think front page sports was the best game that’s ever hit. Couldn’t imagine where they’d be today.

Re: What would prevent you from buying Madden 19?

Im going to buy Madden next year early like I always do FOR ONE REASON ONLY!

I want to see what they're going to do with a year of development on the 1X....

Now my expectations are ill be disappointed, bored and frustrated with the game like I have been for the past few years. And more than likely trade it in once NBA2k19 comes out.

I used to be a hardcore gamer but Im way more casual now, so if I do sit down and spend time on a game I don't want to be frustrated or bored with it. I don't have the patience that many of others do. Ill stop playing quick and sell it if Im not feeling it.

EA/Tiburon can do whatever they want. Threads like this just prove it. The game while pretty good by Madden's standard, is an embarrassment when compared to some of the other AAA efforts out there in more than a few areas. I wish NFL Fans/Football gamers had more unity and willpower to demand a better product but, it is what it is. Hey, keep hope alive right?

I mean, Romo does deserve one more shot to win the SB, right?
I have been playing Madden 16 and it is great. It does not have the off-ball injuries, or practices squads....but man the AI plays better than any Madden game ever made, it’s smooth and it works.

I am using some classic rosters (ITeachpercussion’s 1986 and 1999 and JohnEKools 1990) and I am having so much fun.

It’s night and day from the mess we have with M18.

It also has made me fully realize how much offline CPU AI went backwards on 17 and now even more on 18. Even after patch 1.07 which tuned CPU QB AI....it still felt wonky.

16 just feels right. And it is the best Madden game they ever produced. Just do it. It is dirt cheap.

I am done purchasing Madden this generation. Absolutely done.

I'm sure you'll change your mind comes August, maybe even sooner.
