It's been said before but I want to support the idea of adding a "create a team" feature and the ability to use that new team in franchise mode.

We all loved the expansion mode in All Star Baseball and haven't seen it again for the past 4 years. It seems like it is time for it to make a comeback!!!

Re: The MLB 2K9 Developers Are Listening

I would love a choice of the following retro hats in 2K9:

www.dugout-memories.com/capsteam.html

1922 Yankees
1926 Senators
1929 Athletics
1938 Brooklyn Dodgers
1940 Pirates
1943 Cardinals
1947 Indians
1948 Phillies
1955 Brooklyn Dodgers
1957 Reds
1960 Pirates
1962 Athletics
1966 Orioles
1972 Oakland A's
1973 Twins
1975 Red Sox
1953 Milwaukee Braves
1912 Tigers
1931 New York Giants
1951 New York Giants
1906 Senators
1987 White Sox

I might have to buy a couple of these great looking hats, check them out!

Scooter...

Re: The MLB 2K9 Developers Are Listening

I don't know if any of these have been said, but I'm not going to read through 12 pages to find out.

The one thing that bugged me more than anything was that it is almost impossible to draw a walk, the pitcher just pumps in strikes no matter if he is wild in real life. It's impossible to make a good guess as to whether a pitch is going to be a ball or a strike so I found myself deciding before the pitch if I wanted to swing or not.

Some hitters are very patient and will not swing out of the strike zone, I think MLB 2k9 needs to implement ratings for patience and a guy with great plate discipline can see the ball better (slowing it down, or maybe showing where it's going to end up right away if it's a ball) making it easier for me to tell if the ball is a strike while its on its way. But that only works if the pitchers actually throw balls.

There also needs to be more foul balls, you can't really foul off bad pitches, if you swing chances are it's going in play in 2k8, another thing that makes it almost impossible to walk.

I think the batting interface needs to be like MLB Power Pros, they did a great job of implementing that, if you hit a pitch off the top of the bat it's a pop up, you don't just square up on every pitch.

The atmosphere in these games have been terrible as well, the crowd is silent when a home run is hit. There needs to be more excitement, when a ball is hit well the crowd needs to cheer in anticipation of a home run, and then actually cheer if it goes out, or groan if it's caught. The crowd is terrible in all facets of the game, there is no excitement when closing out a game or getting the final out, it's like playing in an empty ball park. There needs to be real atmosphere in these games, especially with sellouts and postseason games.

I'm sure I could think of a lot more but I've already typed too much, no one is going to want to read it all.

Generated pitch counts for people who like to play quick games yet want realistic pitch counts and stats.

Based on the batters/pitchers stats we start either ahead or behind in the count, limiting the AB to 2-3 crucial pitches/swings.
Guys with poor control would start with a 2 or 3 ball count. This should increase the amount of balls and walks without slowing down the game significantly.
