So Ortiz is alright if Manny leaves, he just want some power to replace Manny in the line up. I wonder if a trade to LAA for O-Cab and top prospects for Manny and Theo goes out and signs Carlos Lee would get the team back rolling.

There are a bunch of different options for the Red Sox to deal with this winter. I personally don't see how a team would get better by losing one of the top right handed hitters in the game, but I suppose Soriano, Aramiz Ramirez, or Carlos Lee could make up for some of Manny's bat. And I don't really want O-Cab back, we can get similiar production out of Gonzalez for a fraction of the price and a better glove. But trading Manny for a Santana, Woods and another prospect deal would be hard to pass up if the Angels offered it.

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006

Angels owner already said they are willing to put more money on the payroll but I think the decision of who to bring will be their GM. He doesn't seem to like what the Sox were asking for last winter. Maybe we pursue Andruw Jones again. He will be in the last year in the contract. There were rumblings about if the Yanks don't pickup Sheff we will sign him. There is still Barry Zito on the market and it seems that the Sox will make a push to sign him. I don't think they will get him but they will make a try for it.

The Angels never mind spending some money, they just hate trading prospects which is what makes a deal with them so hard to consumate. I don't think they would even give up Santana for Manny, especially with Colon's career looking like it's over.

With the loss to the Orioles last night, the Red Sox have secured third place in the AL East.

Well technically its a no-hitter...

Odd way for the season to end. Not that anyone was watching with the Patriots on.

I was, partly to see Nixon's sendoff.

Sucks that the rain kept alot of people from going, but it was nice to see him tip his cap to the fans in his first AB. Along with when Tito took him out in the 4th or 5th.
