Didn't Adam LaRoche do it on Opening Day?

Re: 2007 Atlanta Braves Discussion

Guys! Andruw is obviously struggling right now but let's don't place him in the coffin yet. Is he the only MLB player to struggle in tis manner? No! I am frustrated with him as well right now but hasn't he always got things going as the weather warms up too? He's not going to hit .300 because he isn't that type hitter. He'll still end up with his close to usual numbers by season's end.

I too wished Andruw would just learn to hit more balls to center/right-center field. He does try to pull every pitch & with his swing right now no wonder his back is hurting. My gosh he goes to one knee & buckles with every swing. That would hurt most hitter's backs anyhow. Terry has already expressed his frustrations with trying to get Andruw going in the right direction. Andruw is a pull-hitter but he still has to learn to hit at least some balls(especially outside pitches) to right field. For these reasons, that's why Andruw could never hit for a high average(say .300 or better). He doesn't have to hit .300 due to his defensive skills,HR ability,& RBI's. He's also a good person so his struggles right now will not have anything to do with a big contract he's gonna see with some team & I hope that team is the Braves! Thanks guys!

Braves release Redman

Hallelujah.

Cox said possibilities for Saturday's start were Buddy Carlyle (5-1 with a 2.22 ERA in Richmond) and Trey Hodges (2-2, with a 2.06 ERA).

Re: 2007 Atlanta Braves Discussion

Davies finally seems to be settling into the rotation... 3-run homer was nice, too.

Has Hodges ever made a start in his career? I know he was a reliever a few years back when he pitched for Atlanta.

Always good when we can take out the mets.

Davies blast was a thing of beauty.
